Obama wanted these items past without any objections? Just pump it through and fast!, so he could get on with his next credit card purchase. There's more waste in the bill, I went through it last night. They need to sharpen their pencils a little more.

Geithner is up on Monday or Tuesday with his "wishlist"!

CNN obtained, from a Democratic leadership aide, a list of some programs that have been cut -- either entirely or partially:

Partially cut:

• $3.5 billion for energy-efficient federal buildings (original bill $7 billion)

• $75 million from Smithsonian (original bill $150 million)

• $200 million from Environmental Protection Agency Superfund (original bill $800 million)

• $100 million from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (original bill $427 million)

• $100 million from law enforcement wireless (original bill $200 million)

• $300 million from federal fleet of hybrid vehicles (original bill $600 million)

• $100 million from FBI construction (original bill $400 million)

Fully eliminated

• $55 million for historic preservation

• $122 million for new Coast Guard polar icebreaker/cutters

• $100 million for Farm Service Agency modernization

It was, these are the items or amounts from the Senate version, that were taken out.

Sandhusker, I should ask you, have you read the Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009?

It looks as though the only ones complaining about the spending are the conservatives. Yes the conservatives who also complained of Bush's spending.
On the flipside the liberals who complained of Bush's spending are silent now.
Liberal Hypocrisy at its best

Now Larry, there you go again with that rational thinking that Reader likes to commend BadAxe on.

If you are not careful, she may choose to give you a one liner!

TRIP, a Washington, D.C.-based transportation advocacy group, says it would cost $65 billion to repair the nation's deficient bridges

yet only 30 billion was allotted for all infrastructure in the US?

Across the United States, there are about 600,000 bridges. The Federal Highway Administration reported in 2006 that one quarter of the nation's bridges were at risk. The American Society for Civil Engineers said in 2006 that it would cost nearly $10 billion every year for the next two decades to fix them.

10 x 20 = 200 billion, yet only 30 billion was allotted for all infrastructure in the US?

what is wrong with the Democrats, that condoms and art is more imortant the fixing failing bridges?

why is we have billions of needed projects and the democrats waste it on crap? crap no one really can defend?

ASCE estimates that $1.6 trillion is needed over a five-year period to bring the nation's infrastructure to a good condition. Establishing a long-term development and maintenance plan must become a national priority.

in a few minutes I can find "expert after expert" that will give a massive number to how much fixing our infrastucture needs, yet only 30 billion is all that was alloted... why?

if they must spend it, at least get something for the money!

reader (the Second) said:
Stimulus is about spending in the UNITED STATES. To give people jobs. Cutting taxes has not stimulated the economy.

since we actually need a few things fixed, like bridges, roads, leevees, not even mentioning the thousands of homes still not rebuilt after Katrina, why waste it?

locally we have a wooden bridge needing several million in repairs.. and it will last a few more years,.. or until a nasty storm blows thru, since it is one of the three main roads out of here, when it is needed most, it will more then likely fail, taking many lives with it..

Twenty million will replace it.. yet the stimulas bill "Still Includes $335 Million Handout for Condoms" ...

Most condoms are purchased in packages of 12. The cost per condom range is as little as 20¢ each.

while it seems the Democrats are getting plenty of bang for their buck.., who needs 335 million worth of 20¢ condoms?
I say let the horny little jerks buy thier own out of their $93,000 expense account increase they just gave themselves..

is it just me or does it look as if the democrats actually want to look stupid and inept?

why not actually fix our infrastucture? instead of claiming to want to?

You have already said Reader, that cutting and pasting from your favorite magazine/media lowers your credibility.

How do you ever expect us to listen to you now?

You're kinda like Obama telling us he's going to put "every" executive order on the website to be commented on for 5 days before signing!

People are starting to call BS!

They are becoming irritated by the itch in their eyes.

Unlike you, I don't read only WorldNet.com

Don't distort the truth. I quoted the world net when some of these things about Obama were just "conspiracies", now I'm quoting CNN, and the NYTimes.

I usually check out Fox online, in the morning, to catch the latest Obama promise, and then CNN in the evening to catch how he has used a retraction or "waiver" to break those same promises.

Home page is set to MSNBC!
