“That the president would write a letter of this nature, in effect legitimizing a nation and a leadership that is violating international norms and is threatening the world, is so far beyond the pale, I was stunned. I was speechless,” Romney said. Romney said the “right kind of approach in dealing with Iran is that we consider them a pariah, their leaders are shunned and we exert that kind of moral suasion on them.”

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but this seems so asinine. Could their shared contempt for Israel be in play? Hate to have those poor Iranians be at any disadvantage. :x

while contempt may play into the decision ... I would say desperation at having to deal with ISIS and Iran's nuclear issue is just to much for them to handle...

they don't know what to do or how to handle the two situations... so they are grasping ofr straws...

just the fact that they grasped that straw shows how naive they are... and how they care more about their "legacy" then long-term world security..

Ben Rhodes has been on TV alot lately, talking up the administration and trying to explain our foreign policy...

the guy is basically a speech writer... (majored in creative writing)

but,.. instead of just writing a speech he is actually advising the president on foreign policy..

Benjamin J. Rhodes (born 1977) is the current deputy national security adviser for strategic communication for U.S. President Barack Obama.
His formal title is "Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Strategic Communications and Speechwriting."[1] Rhodes has been a foreign policy speechwriter for Obama since 2007

Rhodes, who has been described as a realist by The Washington Post,[8] wrote Obama's 2009 Cairo speech "A New Beginning".[9]
Rhodes was the adviser who counseled Obama to withdraw support from Egyptian leader Hosni Mubarak, becoming a key adviser during the 2011 Arab Spring.[10] In March, 2013, Rhodes declined to comment on his role in Obama administration policy decisions

so we have a community organizer and his speech writer advising him on foreign policy....

could it get any worse?
