I can't believe this was my #1 pick months ago-

Of all the republicans that ran.. he was at the bottom of my list...

and I am still not committed to voting for him.. even when the other two choices are Obama and Hillary.. BUT, I am committed to voting against Hillary and Obama...

sad, but had the times had any integrity,.. this topic might have not mattered...

I see in the articles today where the New York Times is reporting that this wasn't the first time McCains name came up with putting influence on the FCC- in connection with companies lobbied for by Ms. Iseman.... And that the King of Influence Peddling for campaign donations/pocket change- Former Montana Senator Conman Burns is now being named as the other Senator (besides McCain) that was putting influence on the FCC involving Sinclair Broadcasting's shell company, Glencairn Broadcasting-Glencairn Ltd., another client of lobbyist Vicki Iseman.

The blogs/news articles are now reporting that 59 members of McCains campaign staff are registered Federal lobbyists.....
Some of the companies they represent are:

Verizon.

SBC Communications.

AT&T.

Alcoa.

JPMorgan.

U.S.Airways.

Land O'Lakes.

UST Public Affairs.

Dell.

Fannie Mae.

General Motors.

United Technologies.

eBay.

Goldman Sachs.

Cablevision.

Tenneco.

Novartis Pharmaceuticals.

The Saudis.

Southwest Airlines.

Toyota.

Pharmaceutical Research & Manufacturers of America.

SO MUCH FOR CHANGE!!!! :( :(

But when McCain huddled with his closest advisers at his rustic Arizona cabin last weekend to map out his presidential campaign, virtually every one was part of the Washington lobbying culture he has long decried. His campaign manager, Rick Davis, co-founded a lobbying firm whose clients have included Verizon and SBC Telecommunications. His chief political adviser, Charles R. Black Jr., is chairman of one of Washington's lobbying powerhouses, BKSH and Associates, which has represented AT&T, Alcoa, JPMorgan and U.S. Airways.

Senior advisers Steve Schmidt and Mark McKinnon work for firms that have lobbied for Land O' Lakes, UST Public Affairs, Dell and Fannie Mae.

McCain's relationship with lobbyists became an issue this week after it was reported that his aides asked Vicki Iseman, a telecom lobbyist, to distance herself from his 2000 presidential campaign because it would threaten McCain's reputation for independence. An angry and defiant McCain denounced the stories yesterday, declaring: "At no time have I ever done anything that would betray the public trust."

Even before McCain finished his news conference, uber-lobbyist Black made the rounds of television networks to defend McCain against charges that he has been tainted by his relationship with a lobbyist. Black's current clients include General Motors, United Technologies, JPMorgan and AT&T.

I received a few links to stories over the week that are all saying about the same.. one saying by Monday or Tuesday, expect a huge front page rebuttel from the times..

it also sounds like McCain will try to take on a lay low type campaign for the next few weeks hoping it will blow over.. as it worked so well for Rudy..

Hillary is getting extremely desperate....Maybe she will find something on Obama- or get someone to make it up- and take the heat off McCain for awhile....
But I got a feeling the NY Times and the Washington Post are not done with laying out the things they know about McCain....

I am not sure if they really know anything about McCain but you are correct in that they are not done yet. The Media will do everything they can to smear McCain rather he did it or not.

They will make a big deal out of anything remotely shady looking he has ever did rather it was shady or not.

Obama will never have to answer any hard questions or answer for his past or political decisions. He will be painted as the greatest man to ever walk on water.
