"This week newly elected members of the United States House and Senate joined together in Washington, DC to learn the ropes of their new jobs. The one and only senator-elect absent from the Senate orientation: Claire McCaskill. Inside sources reveal that McCaskill ditched the week-long training and flew to exotic Bali, an island off Indonesia, with hubby Joseph Shepard"

Sure showing her dedication to her Missouri Voters

The Democrats plan on working more than two days a week, so she should have plenty of time to learn the ropes, when her term begins.

That is some serious good justification there! Do the Liberals have a web site with list of derogatory comments that you guys can go to, too copy and paste when you have no recourse available?

I am sure you are proud your newly elected representative is off in some other country spending her millions on the beach instead of doing her job that everyone took the time to go out and vote to elect her. Wonder if Michael J. Fox is vacationing with her? If so I hope he took his medicine before the trip!

She ditched her week long training????? If I lived in Missouri I would have been mad if she had attended a training session. These sessions certainly haven't had a positive effect on her predecessors it seems. Maybe she is making a statement.

That is sad aplus......just because a guy try's to get support for a medical problem, that research could help...You jump all over him with back handed comments....Would you be so quick to judge if one of your family members suffered with the same medical condition as Mr fox does? Or would you support his efforts to get help and or find a cure or a better controling medication......I have a very good friend who's life is being stolen from him by parkinson's.Watching him deteriorate from a once strong, proud and young man,to one that at times can not even hold his young daughter anymore....I sure hope Mr Fox does find an answer and soon....maybe its all a joke to you but it sure is not a joke to me.My only hope for you is that you are never faced with such a devasating blow to someone in your life......I applaud his efforts fair or not......

Can you get hold of a Newsweek magazine from last week? Their site might have the article last week about new research into genetic related diseases. It also touched on stem cell research. It was very encouraging.

I can respect M.J. Fox's desire to find a cure for himself and others. And even though I am against Embryonic Stem Cell research personally I am not closed minded enough to understand why some people find it no big deal. Crap I can even empathize to a small amount on some people justifying and wanting abortions. I see there side of the issues even when I am against them.

But what I do not respect is that fact he backed a Politician for only one reason, he stooped to not taking his medicine or faked his severity for the Camera.

And MOST OF ALL I do not respect a person that supports a Politician or more specifically supports and AMMENDMANT to the Constitution rather it be Federal or State that admits he NEVER READ IT!

I wish M.J. Fox all the best on his health problems. Just show some integrity when dealing with them. Much like Ronald Regan did! And if you choose to be theatrical and bias on something you never read then Cowboy up and take the Crap that comes with it.

I don't think you have much firsthand experience with neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinson's Disease or Alzheimer's.

From what I understand, the Rush Limbaugh claim that MJF was exaggerating his symptoms was Rush's own interpretation and was not based on any knowledge of MJF or his disease. Furthermore, I understand that Rush was just plain wrong.

I do have firsthand experience with this type of disease, including with PD, which is a devastating disease.

As far as Reagan and integrity goes, after a certain time into his disease, he himself was not much in control and his family and staff represented him and the disease to the American people. That is the tragedy of Alzheimer's that it steals away the brain and memory and reasoning. We will never know whether he came forward with the fact of his disease or whether he was far enough along so he was simply reading a speech written for him... Not to detract at all from the family's great tragedy and struggle and their love for him. I wept at his funeral seeing Nancy stroking the casket. Regardless of how much support the family had, they went through hell having him decline for so many years. We don't actually have insight into his last years but they must have been tough for the family.

Anyway, my experience the past few years has shown me that those who have not faced terrible illness and death themselves are simply not equipped to empathize or to make informed statements. Case in point -- my architect designed a house for a handicapped person when my husband was declining with an unknown illness before we knew that it was a fatal illness. He was anxious to show me his design and all proud and enthusiastic after my husband's death of his design for a handicapped person. It was shocking how little empathy he had with what had actually befallen our family.

I have no experiance with diagnosed Parkinson's. I do know what it is like to go see my grandma and have her call me by my dads name. I do know what it is like to leave in a few minutes to see my uncle who has only hours to live from Lung Cancer.

But empathy has nothing to do with it. I do not empathize with a person that will throw integrity out the door by supporting an Constitution Amendment that they NEVER read!

People get sick, People get diseases and People die all the time. I empathize with them and their families!

But how you handle things during these Sicknesses, diseases and death will be the factor in rather I respect you!

As far as Limbaugh I never seen exactly what he said or did. Do not get them channels. But I based my opinion on the ads I saw, clips of interviews before and after the ad. The admission of him that has quit taken his medicine to get a sympathizing responses in past. I based it on fact I watched Boston Legal and saw what he can look like. And the fact he admitted he never read the Amendment!

to accuse a man of faking something one must at least have first hand knowledge of that something, so I guess you are a doctor and know what to look for in a faker, that or your watching to many "house" episodes.....And if he did not take his medication to use as an example of how bad it gets.why is that wrong?...You know whats sad to me,had Mr Fox been a republican,we would of never heard a peep out of you or rush....Thats how sad it gets here....comes down to your chioce of politicans....FOR PITY SAKE WAKE THE F **K UP!!!!!!!!!!..There is more to life then G.W, Bush and the mighty republican juggernaut........

To convict him of a crime I might have to have first hand proof. But to post my opinion on a Message board on the Internet I need no such proof. I can use my sense of reasoning and my limited knowledge to debate my opinion.

And I would not care about any of that if he would have read the Amendment that he was supporting for a state that he does not even live in or have any vested interest in. He is barely even an American anyway. He needs to go support the issues is Canada and stay out of Missouri.

As far as my political views go you have no idea who or what I support. I am not some Republican patsy in all honesty I hate all politicians as much as I hate child molesters! I think one side is the Devil and one is Satan. I support conservative thoughts and ideas. At this time Republicans lean that direction more in my mind than the Dem's do, but I grant you it is barely and getting less and less as time goes on.

If I as of legal age in times of past I would have probably supported the Dem's more than the Republicans. And for the Record I do not support Bush on many issues at all. I just happened to be a big supporter on the war on terror and he offers a stronger hand than most so I support him on it. But he is not in my top ten choices of running this country by any means.

If you do not believe me then look at my post on the Judge from Missouri that set a Child Molester free with only Probation. This Judge was a Republican not a Dem. But in my mind he is a Liberal and not a Conservative I despise him and wish someone would catch him in dark alley and molest him his Republican A$$. My ideas have nothing to do with Party Loyalty.

They are my own thoughts and I do look up things and try to be educated in regards them. But Republican Loyalty has nothing to do with them if you only knew how far you are off in this regards!

 In other words, you wouldn't want to let facts get in the way of your opinions? ROTFLMAO!

I will take it that you agree with me and have accepted my opinion on the matter as accurate. Seeing how your only reply to my post in regards the facts of what happened was to make a joke at my expense.

Hey I can take a Joke, and I can dish them out. But I think you Liberals only help us to realize how right we are. Because when you can only resort to personal attacks and offer no more intellect to the debate, then we know you realize we are right, you just do not want to concede that point.

So thanks for recognizing my views as correct, I appreciate your Support on the issue! :D

I guess if I was to sum up what my connection with the Ideology of the Republican party is I believe in most of the things that the Republicans SAY they stand for.

But in reality I am a conservative far to the right. I might agree with some of the things the Republicans say they believe but I very rarely agree with much that they Do.

I think almost all if not all just give lip service. It just happens that sometimes by accident they come up with some ideas and policies that fit my beliefs not the other way around. I do not conform to what they believe for one they change to many times based on Polls and pressure from different sources.

My basic beliefs are

Right to own guns with only restriction being Felons

Pro life you screw up then put it up for adoption or raise it.

Pay Just enough tax money to keep the lights on and a strong Army

Let the Free Market take care of itself. It will all buff out in the end.

Welfare should be Workfare. We will help our poor, but all they get is a bag of beans, and clean water to drink anything else they want they better earn it themselves. And they should have to work for that bag of beans if physically possible.

Child Molesters should be castrated and then hung.

I am sure I am missing some, but to summarize. Less Government, less taxes, fewer laws, more guns, less welfare and dead Child Molesters would make me happy. Now whoever comes the closes to them ideas is who I would support Dem or Rep.

How in the heck do you know what I should do in my country? Do you live in America? What exactly do you know about my country? I live in the Midwest we are America! People on east and west coast should come here to see what America is all about.

How is it a Canadian can give so much advice on what we in America should be doing? How many times do you hear an American on here ragging on your country? Personally you can bite my Red, White and Blue A$$ :!: :!: :!: :!:

I am sure others have seen more of America but it would be a challenge to find someone. I have been to most all states more than once. Probably only a few in the North East Corner that I never been to. Been to Mexico and Canada at least 3 times each. Planning a big vacation with the kids as soon as wife gets her first week vacation at new job. Either going to hit numerous states on west coast or go east and up to Canada to Niagara falls, hard to decide which direction I want them to experiance.

And yes I agree East and West Coast is what the World sees most when they come here. Shame that most visitors see NYC and California as there example of Americans that is a small part of what America is, if you ask me most them areas do not come close to displaying anything of what Middle Class America spread across the bulk of the rest of the states.
