NO PUNCHES PULLED HERE

Jimmy Carter, you're the father of the Islamic Nazi movement. You threw the Shah under the bus, welcomed the Ayatollah home and then lacked the spine to confront the terrorists when they took our embassy and our people hostage. You're the Runner-in-Chief.

Bill Clinton, you played "ring around the Lewinsky" while the terrorists were at war with us. You got us into a fight with them in Somalia, and then you ran from it. Your weak-willed responses embolden the killers. Each time you failed to respond adequately they grew bolder, until 9/11.

John Kerry, dishonesty is your most prominent attribute. You lied about American Soldiers in Vietnam. Your mil itary service, like your life, is more fiction than fact. You've accused our Soldiers of terrorizing women and in Iraq. You called Iraq the wrong war, wrong place, wrong time... the same words you used to describe Vietnam. You're a fake. You want to run from Iraq and abandon the Iraqis to murderers just as you did the Vietnamese. Iraq, like Vietnam is another war that you were for, before you were against it.

John Murtha, you said our military was broken. You said we can't win mil itarily in Iraq. You accused United States Marines of cold-blooded murder without proof. And said we should redeploy to Okinawa. Okinawa, John? And the Democrats call you their military expert. Are you sure you didn't suffer a traumatic brain injury while you were off building your war hero resume? You're a sad, pitiable, corrupt, and washed up politician. You're not a Marine sir. You wouldn't amount to a pimple on a real Marine's ass. You're a phony and a disgrace. Run away John.

Dick Durbin, you accused our Soldiers at Guantanamo of being Nazis, tenders of Soviet style gulags and as bad as the regime of Pol Pot who murdered two mil lion of his own people after your party abandoned South East Asia to the Communists. Now you want to abandon the Iraqis to the same fate. History was not a good teacher for you, was it? See Dick run.

Ted Kennedy, for days on end you held poster sized pictures from Abu Grhaib in front of any available television camera. Al Jazeera quoted you saying that Iraqis torture chambers were open under new management. Did you see the news this week Teddy? The Islamic Nazis demonstrate real torture for you again. If you truly supported our troops, you'd show the world poster-sized pictures of that atrocity and demand the annihilation of it. Your legislation stripping support from the South Vietnamese led to a communist victory there. You're a bloated fool bent on repeating the same historical blunder that turned freedom-seeking people over to homicidal, genocidal maniacs. To paraphrase John Murtha, all while sitting on you wide, gin-soaked rear-end in Washington.

Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Carl Levine, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, Russ Feingold, Hillary Clinton, Pat Leahy, Chuck Schumer et al ad nauseam. Every time you stand in front of television cameras and broadcast to the Islamic Nazis that we went to war because our President lied. That the war is wrong and our Soldiers are torturers. That we should leave Iraq, you give the Islamic butchers - the same ones that tortured and mutilated American Soldiers - cause to think that we will run away again and all they have to do is hang on a little longer.

American news media, the New York Times particularly. Each time you publish stories about national defense secrets and our intelligence gathering methods, you become one with the sub-human pieces of camel dung that torture and mutilate the bodies of American Soldiers. You can't strike up the courage to publish cartoons, but you can help Al Qaeda destroy my country. Actually, you are more dangerous to us than Al Qaeda is. Think about that each time you face Mecca to admire your Pulitzer.

You are America's axis of idiots. Your collective stupidity will destroy us. Self-serving politics and terrorist abetting news scoops are more important to you than our national security or the lives of innocent civilians and Soldiers. It bothers you that defending ourselves gets in the way of your elitist sport of politics and your ignorant editorializing. There is as much blood on your hands as is on the hands of murdering terrorists. Don't ever doubt that. Your frolics will only serve to extend this war as they extended Vietnam. If you want our Soldiers home, as you claim, knock off the crap and try supporting your country ahead of supporting your silly political aims and aiding our enemies. Yes, I'm questioning your patriotism. Your loyalty ends with -self. I'm also questioning why you're stealing air that decent Americans could be breathing. You don't deserve the protection of our men and women in uniform. You need to run away from this war and this country. Leave the war to the people who have the will to see it through and the country to people who are willing to defend it.

No, Commander in Chief, you don't get off the hook either. Our country has two enemies. Those who want to destroy us from the outside and those who attempt it from within. Your Soldiers are dealing with the outside force. It's your obligation to support them by confronting the axis of idiots. America must hear it from you that these people are harming our country, abetting the enemy and endangering our safety. Well up a little anger please, and channel it toward the appropriate target. You must prosecute those who leak national security secrets to the media. You must prosecute those in the media who knowingly publish those secrets. Our Soldiers need you to confront the enemy that they cannot. They need you to do it now.

Why can't the liberals figure it out...

Excellent post, LB. The truth hurts those who care, but

Again another post with no answers....dont you tire of defending the repub's and belittling the liberal's?
There are a lot of Republicans I refuse to defend but no, I never tire of belittling liberals of either party.
....You are a member of goverment, and to bring your bias on a members board is just not very professional.....Your work should be about building positive endevours to help your party grow.....Is it the repub's mandate to have their elected people bad mouth the oppossition to gain credibilty or are they prepared to work hard and prove their worth...Seems to me all you do liberty belle is cut and paste others points and never your own
I consider slapping down a lib when he deserves it to be helping my party, even if he (or she) belongs to my party.
...It is a shame elected officials stoop to such public hypocorisy, when they should be working to better their community and country....
How do you figure my giving my views to be hypocrisy? And showing liberals for what they are IS working for the betterment of my community and my country.
Why not instead of bringing to this forum others liberal trashing, try bringing in positive work done by the Repub's....It sure would go a long way in proving your more about forward growth rather then sticking it to the liberal's....
How about you pointing out anything positive the liberals Pendry wrote about have done? Do that and then we’ll talk.

This man has fought for all Americans to have the freedom of speech and lots of men have died defending the right to say any idiotic thing anyone, including me, might want to. Somehow, it really doesn’t surprise me that you don’t get Sergeant Major Pendry’s point. He has, and is, working hard to fix our nation’s problems. Those who really care about this nation work every day to find solutions to our problems that will allow us to remain free and won’t tax Peter to pay Paul.

I travel to our state capitol this week to do what I can to make my state a better place to live. What have YOU done lately to straighten out Canada’s problems? Not much, I’ll bet.

First of all these words are not yours.you just cut and paste others.

Slapping down some one is helping your party?..and yes you do belittle...

Your hypocrisy comes from your oath to serve not judge..

Showing Liberals what they are you say?Well what are they....are they not caring folk who believe them may have an idea of what is right also as you do?

I think clinton did many positive things for the USA,if you want a list I will research the info for you..just ask....

I have a question for you now.....Why not go to your state capitol with ideas for positive measures for your state ..rather then go looking to be told what to do?

I choose to help my cummunity by volunteering and giving my time freely to help many avenues that needed or still need help.....I have been a volunteer for over 20 years, and have found myself many times acting as an advocate for many people within my community...So maybe thats not much in your eyes, but when i get a smile and letter of how much better a person whom i stood by life"s is now, followed that by a thank you....I will take that as full payment for my time.....everytime.....

here ya go steve......

Just over a year ago, George Bush and Dick Cheney were campaigning hard on the theme that Bill Clinton and Al Gore had run down the United States military. Picking up a traditional Republican refrain, they claimed that defense cuts under President Clinton had gone too far, that the armed forces had been overused badly, that readiness was poor. But now President Bush stands on the verge of winning a war with the military that Bill Clinton bequeathed him. Just as in NATO's 1999 war against Serbia, the United States military has led coalition forces to a decisive victory while suffering very few casualties in the process.

Some might wish to give the young Bush administration and its impressive secretary of defense, Donald Rumsfeld, primary credit for the performance of American forces in Afghanistan. The administration developed an effective war plan that defeated the Taliban and Al Qaeda, and it has a sound broader strategy in the struggle against terrorism.

But it is still Bill Clinton's military that has actually been winning this war. The Bush administration had barely started to make its mark on defense policy before hostilities in Afghanistan began. Last spring, it provided a $5 billion supplemental appropriation for the 2001 defense budget, but that constituted less than 2 percent of defense spending for the year and had hardly begun to be noticed before the war began.

The Bush administration also announced the results of a new strategic review on Sept. 30. But such a review cannot affect military operations that begin within days of its release. Moreover, the review did not reverse any of Bill Clinton's military force cuts, despite the claims of the Bush campaign last year that those reductions had gone too far. In most respects, the review looked very much like what one might have expected a Clinton or Gore administration to produce.

Some would prefer to credit Ronald Reagan or President Bush's father with the fine military this country now possesses. They rescued the armed forces from a post-Vietnam malaise and made the overwhelming victory in Desert Storm possible. They were also much more popular among America's military personnel than Bill Clinton ever was.

But Bill Clinton did not squander their legacy. The performance of American forces in the Balkans in the late 1990's and in Afghanistan in 2001 has been outstanding. And the military has wielded new weapons and new concepts in these recent campaigns that it did not possess during Desert Storm: several types of guided weapons, unmanned aerial vehicles, near-real-time communications systems.

See additional research on Terrorism and the U.S. Defense Budget and Military Readiness

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There were some setbacks. The Clinton administration misused military power during its first year in office in Somalia and then in Haiti; the results were needless American deaths in the first instance and a poorly planned, aborted mission in the second. Morale was low, and recruitment and retention posed problems. Cuts in defense spending to help balance the federal budget went too far in some cases—until the Republican Congress stepped in and insisted on adding money for the Pentagon. And the Clinton administration and the uniformed military struggled with how to sustain numerous small missions overseas without overusing certain parts of the armed forces.

Despite these problems, which put a drag on military readiness, statistical measures of combat preparedness—the condition of equipment, training standards met by pilots and troops, aptitude scores and experience levels of personnel—compared relatively favorably with those in the Reagan years. And by the end of Mr. Clinton's second term, increases in pay and innovations in the force structure helped to resolve some of the morale, recruiting and retention problems that had been serious in the mid-90's.

Of course, the main credit for the quality of America's military must go to its own personnel. But the victory in Afghanistan, coming on the heels of the successful action against Serbia in 1999, shows that the Clinton administration maintained a strong and focused military able to carry out a post-cold war mission.

Clinton axed most of the Military's progresses so in effect.....Bush started with half of Reagan's Military......

cutting the military did not help them......we now see the end result of shifting the task to the reserve (Clinton military legacy).....

Just because the Military did more with less is not a good reflection on what Clinton did for the Military......it is a reflection on just how good our military is.....dispite deep cuts and reduction in force levels.....

so I ask again what did Clinton do for the Military.......that was actually "good"......

we sure could use those troops Clinton fired right about now........

Again just cause you dissagree does not make the facts in this article wrong....you ask and I delivered, you can dissagree with the writer all you want.....Clinton honed your military into a more potent force....at least thats what i get from this article.....He also gave the military personell raises across the board......Now that there has been a spree of spending on the military do you believe the budget to be out of control without any of that monies goint to health care or education? The article also credits the military for its hard work..All that bush did was add more numbers to the mix.....he never changed any of clintons so called bad decisions........he just through more money at a war,and as is your right, you seem to find money spent on civil wars in other countries a positive way to run your military....If Clinton's changes were so bad why did bush keep them under his watch?

So I ask you......other than adding more money, what did GW Bush do for the military.....

One more thing Steve, dont just pull out the negative points of a article.....It is almost like your twisting things.......lots in that article you choose not to quote which is unfair to criticize, when only the truths you want to debunk are used.I gave you the whole article good and bad,Next time i will just take out what I need to provide me with the spin i need, just as you do....

If you neocons want to demonize over half of the population in the U.S. (dems) then you make the same critical mistake Bush made in Iraq. The next critical mistake was his hubris, something some of you have a problem with.

I have to agree with Steve- what Clinton/Janet Reno did with the US military and the US intelligence services in "streamling" them is to buy out and retire 15-20 years per person of experience and training- something which they could not afford to give up- and would have been worth Billions of $ on or before 9/11, or now.....That and he kept the computer system and much of the technology of both back in the dark ages rather than funding them to keep them up with the changing world.......

I wouldn't disagree with you at all on that OT. Sometimes the pres. has to take responsibility and fix the problems he and his new bunch sees and stop blaming it on others whatever the party. Clinton knew we needed more intel and instead got the FBI to do a little research for his self interest (travel gate).
