and actually had the backbone to speak out about it...

If he felt that way about all those conflicts and wars he took part in then why did he not have the backbone to do something about it at the time instead of just write a book about it after he done it all?

Pretty low life person that would carry out orders and partake in those things all in the name of what he thought was big business.

To me he sounds like a disgruntled employee who got fired or did not get something he wanted from his job. Or just another Liberal that wants to make the U.S. out to be some bad country.

You know what happeded to Admiral Fallon when he had the courage to speak up :???:

Someday you'll realize as you get older you truly do get wiser- and use more of your brain/emotions to make decisions with-- and the reasoning for things you did in the past becomes much more sensible/unsensible...

It sounds to me like he wrote these after he retired and had time to reflect on what he'd done.....Kind of like Powell lamenting on his involvement in promoting the GW lies- and all the Generals that have came out and now said they were overrode on their decisions by Rummy/DoD- and we were wrong with the invasion of Iraq....

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of displaced power exists and will persist."
-- Dwight D. Eisenhower

You are the one that defended him from being a coward. Well if you took part in killing and ordering killing all the time knowing it was for corporate greed all because you were afraid you would be fired. Then you are a coward and worse! Just because you reflect on it while you sit in a rocking chair in older age does not make you a Hero or have backbone.

And I doubt all this Revelation came to him in retirement. Hard to believe such a leader knew nothing until it became time to write the book.

There are many reasons people like this turn once they are no longer on the job and not all them reasons are Patriotic or accurate.

Spin it anyway you want--I never said the man was a coward- as I will never call any participating warrior a coward....But it seems the current fascist neocon attitude to call anyone who speaks out against or opposes war as a coward or a traitor as some on here are already doing to Admiral Fallon since he wouldn't think like globalist neocon nationbuilders....... :(

When people speak to you about a preventive war, you tell them to go and fight it. After my experience, I have come to hate war. War settles nothing.

And this fits the situation GW has put us in- we have children lacking for health care coverage, bridges falling down, roads going unfixed, a lagging education system- along with an economy that could implode anyday- so GW/Cheney can help their oil buddies and corporate contractors who are profitteering from no bid government contracts ....

Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed.

Montana educational spending is up 15% from 97 to 02, yet your students reading hasn't improved. Why?

I put most the your answer on the education thread-- as far as for Montana's education system not improving- its kind of hard when your up near the top    And a 15% raise in five years didn't even probably come close to the rising cost of the teachers/administrators/maintenance staffs health care costs (that rose 10.6% alone last year under GW's guidance  )- let alone the all the other rising costs (Montana's inflation rate on all purchases was at over 10% already last year)...

Remember its the Repubs that think employers should pay for health care costs.....

I never said you said the man was a coward. Re read what I said, I said you defended him from being called a coward.

I think all that google and reading gets your head spinning to much.

Right. He unjustifiably tried to say that I called him a coward. I didn't say he was a coward.

But the term nervous breakdown IS/WAS known as signs of a mental disorder.

That sounds right there like you are calling the General a coward- because sometime in his life he realized what was happening--along with Generals Eisenhower and Powell....

Does your thinking then make the Admiral a hero because he spoke out and said the truth while he was still killing folks, to try and get the warmongers from doing more :???:

OT is the last person that needs help getting the bullies off of him. As wrong as he may be at times he at least bring a good fight.

If the man killed people for wrong reasons then Coward is probably not the correct word, Evil may be better suited word. If he took part in all that killing and truly never knew it was wrong then he is an idiot. At least then he would be a hypocrite. I have no idea what the guy is but he has to be one of them 3 from the way I see it. He was either Evil, Stupid or a Hypocrite, coward was probably the wrong word to use.
