Funny how some one can divert a thread from Iraq to the Montana Caucus and ignore the truth so easily. You must practice this every day OT

Thanks for the other post SW. I enjoyed it but OT won't.

He has taken up residence as a liberal and is blind to the whole truth.

If you think I'm a liberal- do you think Ron Paul is liberal too :???:
I see none of you would comment about the post of his.....
Could it be he is the only Congressman/Senator with a 100% TRUE conservative rating from the conservative groups.... :???:

Here you go oldtimer. Here's the percentage of GDP comparison between this war and others. I would say this is one of the most important wars and these charts show one of the least expensive.

Kind of like the Montana Republican Caucus poll eh :???:

You know, OT, being a Precinct person for my precinct, I called a lot of people to tell me how to vote...since I represent my precinct I felt it was the right thing to do. This caucus thing is new, and I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet....I voted what the majority in my precinct wanted me to vote for...believe it or not, a LOT of the people whom I talked to couldn't give me an answer because they haven't been paying attention to debates, etc. Those who show up (or speak up) are those who run things....

Did you poll them all :???:  :p
Up here no one got called- even the good big money donating Repubs said no one got ahold of them.....And a lot of folks were pizzed off (as Kola puts it  )...I did send e-mails to Iverson, the state party and the local chairman ( a local attorney that I'll get to pick on quite a bit in the next couple months   )- and gave them my two bits worth...

How could I possibly poll them all? There are some families here who absolutely won't answer their phones, I can leave messages for them to call back if they choose to give me their opinion, and they don't. I know I did the very best to vote how my precinct wanted me to vote. Maybe this is a wakeup call to those who don't pay attention to what is going on and maybe pay attention to who their precinct people and committee chairs are and voice their opinions!!! Besides, how did we get off the subject??????????

So you say GW is bankrupting us by himself then with just his economic and trade practices eh :???:

A majority of the folks in the country don't agree with you and think that the wars (especially GW's war) is dragging us down the most...

Maybe the Republican Party should go back to the one person- one vote this country was founded on- and give everyone a chance to participate...

No wonder more and more people are moving away from party affiliations and think this partisan BS should be ended.....

A majority of Americans can not tell you Sec of State,Defense Sec, AG, VP and the list goes on. They are uninformed and could care less. They only know what they hear on the liberal mainstream press news if it happens to come on after American Idol.

Well he was the only Congressman/Senator to win a 100% true conservative rating from the Conservative groups- and he ended up taking 2nd place in Montanas boondoggle caucus's - so its hard to blame all the GW's problems- or anyone that opposes his enept handling of the Administration (including his war) on Liberals or liberal press....

Many-many on the right think King Georges reign has been an abomination......

You know what I think undermines troop morale? Middle Easterners who are resistant to democracy and will never change. I doubt some Marine is reading an oldtimer post and then gets down in the dumps because a Montana rancher doesn't believe in the reasons DUBYA fanangeled his way into this war. That Rush Limbaugh diatribe has about run it's coarse in this country and the far right is gonna have one hell of a wake up call this November.

In a development that should make Republicans nervous, Obama got more votes (619,000) in Virginia than all the Republican candidates combined (485,000). In fact, the combined Democratic vote in Virginia was more than double the combined Republican vote. And this in a state that hasn't voted Democratic in a Presidential election since 1964 when Lyndon Johnson wiped Barry Goldwater off the map. If the Democratic enthusiasm is running so high in places like Virginia, what's going to happen in the general election in true swing states like Missouri, Iowa, New Mexico, and Colorado? In Maryland, the Democrats got over 2.5x more votes than the Republicans, but Maryland is traditionally a blue state, so that was to be expected.

This election reminds me a lot of that Goldwater election- and McCain a lot like Goldwater in his hawkish foreign policy plan and continually beating the war drum (back then it was Goldwater against the Communists/USSR)- and Goldwaters talk of using the Atom bomb.... Much like McCains talk of a "100 years war" and singing "Bomb, Bomb Bomb Bomb Bomb Iran" to the tune of the Beach Boys Barbara Ann ....
It scared the living shite out of voters of both parties and they elected Johnson by a landslide...The same could easily occur again....

Cattlecandykid---I know quite well when Tora Bora was-- but for how much time did GW have all the military resources tied up planning/building for his war- instead of in Afghanistan where needed...Where are the troops now that the US commanders are asking for and currently saying are needed to keep the Taliban from retaking Afghanistan :???:

Maybe if those resources and our complete interest had been focused where they should have been- instead of running around the world looking for more Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld oil company resources to exploit for their elitist buddies.....Or now trying to Democratize a country thats never known Democracy...
I think that Justice Watch obtained files that were posted on here earlier show that the oil resources have been the primary goal in Iraq since day one...Even Greenspan admitted that the war in Iraq is all about oil....

Which is it? In one breath you spout how there was no planning for the war In Iraq, no clear goal, no exit strategy, Colin Powell was right, etc., and now you claim W had ALL the military resources tied up in the planning and buildup for the war in Iraq rather than placing them in Afghanistan where they were needed. You can't have it both ways.

I'll guaran-dam-tee you if they put the entire 82D in Afghanistan, along with some D Boys, and let them do what they were trained to do, the Taliban would cease to exist.

Instead, their hands are tied. They cannot cross over into Pakistan. I personally know soldiers who were stationed in firebases over 9,000 feet in elevation in SE afghanistan (Paki border) who took sniper, mortar, and RPG fire every day. They would head out after the Hadji's with the wrath of God, but all Hadji had to do was cross over 100 yards into Pakistan, throw down his pack, and laugh at Joe being unable to persue him.

The way they did, and, I assume, still do it is to pay the local warlords for results.

When you have figured out which way it is/was: Military tied up with the planning/buildup, or a lack of planning and no clear goal/strategy, enlighten us.

Neither of us is getting any younger waiting for your answer as to which way it is, OW.

Istead of posting a reply long enough to make the average person's eyes bleed, just answer the question with a short, concise reply. Was there too much planning or not enough??? It can't be both ways.

I answered it...Its not a question that can be answered just yes or no.....

Figgers. Most law enforcement types have no problem talking out of both sides of their mouth at the same time. Mark Fuhrman was just the tip of the iceberg.

Sidestep the issue with irrelevant facts all you want, but you never answered the question with a simple answer. It can't be both ways, but you sure got tripped up with your own rhetoric.

At least I don't have to scam folks peddling worthless cow candy that all drips on the ground costing the poor suckers a fortune

I answered your question- If you don't like the answer- tough....

In the end, Goldwater received 38.4% of the popular vote, and carried six states: Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, and his home state of Arizona. In all, Johnson won an overwhelming 486 electoral votes, to Goldwater's 52.

Newt was just on Hannity and Colmes- and just brought up some of the same issues I did in that post...
Newt must be going Lib now- eh? :???:
