Depressing

JUst heard this AM that over 100 Californians have died in this heatwave.
Can't remember the exact number, but those are terrible stats.

I hear ya FH. Really hot and Really dry....Pastures are drying up and turning brown. I want to get a horse or horses ready for the fair, but it's just been to hot to ride. Maybe I'll just take some in for the halter classes.. :?

That's a bad idea, Katrina. In the halter classes, you have to walk. In the performance classes, you ride and the horse does the work. It's too hot for a person to walk.

I was made for warm weather but we have had three triple digit days in a row and they are calling for two more yet. Heck I won't even talk about rain any more.

I always heard that Texas was hotter than Hell but I think S.D. might be giving her a run for the money right now. After all this heat I don't even want to think how hot Hell is.

We have been in the 90's for going on seventeen days, wish it would rain but haven't seen any of that to speak of since finished 1st cutting hay. This heat sure beats the 64 below with wind chill that the first heifer calved in, in late February. I was definitley born for the sunny side of the slope.

Hanta be careful of those too hot to do anything else days.... thats how those spring babies show up

  No spring babies for me...took care of that after MCG was born   Now in YOUR case....

Ranchwife said if I show up with any spring babies there would be hell to pay  as we took care of that after Riley. :P

Miss Jersey,
I am glad I was able to make you laugh but 90 degrees here usually only happens a couple times a year so to have seventeen days in a row is really something. You Know I think the preacher would have scared me a whole lot more if he had told me hell was going to be a blizzard.

don't know about anyone else, but I have always preferred the cold over blistering heat!!! I would much rather have to put on another layer to keep warm than to have to strip down (as far as we women are allowed, anyway!!  ) and melt into a puddle!! I am already thinking I am ready for winter!!

Weather boys are saying this morning that the computers are all indicating high temps in the 70's for Tuesday- altho they don't think it will get that cool and are predicting low 80's for a high.. Looks like next week will all be cooler with 80's temps- and finally the Canucks are giving us back the Jet stream- so it could possibly blow in some moisture... :D

BMR,

Its been doing the same here for the last couple of days, clouds up like we are going to get a whack of a storm then after a few drops the clouds split and then the sun comes out hotter than heck. They are talking 70% chance of thunderstorms today but I really doubt we will get any.

I can't remember when we had a 70% chance of rain. Must have been back in April sometime. Of course we have only had four inches of rain all year.

The temperatures have been typically in the high 90's with typical strength-sapping humidity.several 1-2 inch rains have worked wonders on the grass, but we are still under for this time of the year.
The company Angus and Hereford are all in the shade by 10 A.M. my mad Tuli s are out grazing no matter the temperature, seriously considering using a Tuli bull to produce some adapted A1 hiefers next season.

Got to almost 93 today and is now 88 with a hot breeze from the south, but also getting some of those pretty dark grey clouds forming....probably miss us and go to the east...guess you folks could use it just as much (if not more) than we could!! Best of luck to you all!!

Been watching the weather and the Bozeman Chronicle had quite an article today on the nations drought...says 60% of the country is in "exceptional drought status"...especially the dakotas, arizona, new mexico and most of texas!!!
