Absolutely perfect for use in the streets of America when it comes time to keep the uppity citizens in line. I have seen their effectiveness in several cities in other countries - they work very, very well.

Do not think I am joking.

There is no other reason for these as the US military can do everything else the country needs. There is no other reason at all to buy this type of vehicle.

But the new Hitler Youth of the United States will not be afraid to fire on its own citizens.

If the second picture does not bother you, you have never lived in a true police state - and you have been locked away in world full of roses.

Those who have served overseas might not be so inclined to fire on their own citizens - but the Homeland Security folks will not hesitate - I am betting a coffee and a hotdog I am correct.

This private army is starting to gather some very interesting capabilities on the ground and in the air. Next will come the water.

There has never been a military capability that once attained, has not been used.

Wait!

This is all the fault of that bast*rd Bush!!

As a Canadian on the outsidce looking in - I really believe you guys are well and truly screwed.

Since so much of Homeland Security are made up of border protection agencies-- Border Patrol, Customs and Immigration, Coast Guard, etc. etc.-- I think all the firepower upgrades are to protect our borders from invasion by all the criminal element ... The reason GW authorized building all the forts on the Canadian line that Tam hates- and putting up all the fences while Mexicanizing the Canadian border... And now that the 112th Republicans were supporting giving Homeland Security control of all federal property within 100 miles of the Canadian line---- it means we must be in dire fear of invasion from all the Canadian criminal element !

No. Their explanation was that they had "X" number of dollars left over in their budget and if that didn't get spent, they wouldn't get it at the next money appropriation.

So they decided to buy non-perishable goods with the extra leftover cash.

Now we both know that ammo is not non-perishable because the military disposes of all ammo left in storage that's over 5 years old. Say it's not safe.

I have pulled 1,000's of bullets from military surplus ammo myself..............

The ammo thing doesn't bother me a bit-- because with all the federal law enforcement agencies under their control- they can easily shoot up millions of rounds just training and qualifying... Federal agencies have always been known for almost unlimited practice and training ammo.... They definitely made the state and local folks jealous... And I've shot up 1000's of rounds of military .38 (worthless ) .45, and 7.62...

As far as the armored vehicles- I really don't see any conspiracy warranting the number of Depends some seem to be going thru.... Not when you realize that Homeland Security is agencies on the front lines of border security-- and that Mexico is a country partially controlled by the drug/criminal cartels- and that many feel the whole country could topple to cartel control-- and much of this violence/criminal activity is bleeding over into this country- and may get much worse.... The cartels already have weapons and armored vehicles to match or surpass the Mexican police/army...
Looks to me like this is smart prior planning...Prior Planning Prevents P*ss Poor Performance....

But I couldn't pass up an opportunity to jab the Canucks a little- and old Hopsing is the only one that couldn't realize sarcasm... :p

Whether you fall into the conspiracy was not my point at all.

It's the waste DUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have never spent nearly this much before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Plus the fact that several agencies underneath the DHS have their own procurement divisions and buy their own ammo.

Well if you read some of these rightwinger blogs and sites-- they are peeing down their legs over this...
But they are also the ones spreading the rumor/conspiracy of all the concentration type camps being built in ND for housing all these thousands and thousands of citizens Homeland Security is planning to arrest  ....
BUT- no one in ND has ever saw these camps- nor must these conspiracists know much about ND- as its almost impossible to hide anything in North Dakota... :p

Plus the fact that it would be more than 1.4 vehicles per mile on the southern border and that is one years purchase of vehicles only. They don't have money for a fence but can spend this kind of money for equipment that will require man power to operate, large quantities of fuel, maintenance, and is a liability that will have no value in a matter of years.

BC,
If the US falls, do you not worry that Canada would be next? Since it would be the biggest threat to global socialism.

This proves it, Oldtimer just proved I'm not a Republican Cultist as if I were I would absolutely love the "FORTS" on the Canadian line that BUSH FUNDED through Homeland Security .

Yes Oldtimer I think the buildings that Bush built in the name of Homeland Security were a lot of WASTED MONEY and are STILL WASTING TAX PAYER DOLLARS. Just like I believe the 75 million Stimulus Bill dollars that Democrat Tester got to build 5 more was further waste.

Yes they may have needed to be upgraded the buildings BUT really did they need to go so overboard. Regway went from a small brick building and a smaller outbuilding to three HUGE CONCRETE BUILDING. No wait the one building, where the officers actually work out of, is half plastic panels that make it impossible to heat or cool. I was talking to one of the Custom officers one day and was told the building is freezing and the propane guy LOVES THE BUILDING and what it does to his bottom line. They had no sense building a plastic un-insulatable building on the Canadian border but in all the high ups intelligence they gave an award to the designer of that energy sucking mistake.

BTW do you still believe Tester's $15 million for the Whitetail Port was well planned out? Remember this is a Port of Entry that had already be slated for closure in Canada and has since been closed on the American side. But if I remember right you supported DEMOCRAT Tester's request for the funding as it would pump tax payer funds into the area. MORE WASTE BUT HELL IT IS ONLY TAX PAYER MONEY SOME RICH GUY CAN FORK OVER A FEW MORE DOLLARS AS HE DOESN"T NEED IT TO CREATE AN NON GOVERNMENT FUNDED JOB.
