HONOLULU -- One of President Obama's close friends from his native Hawaii is facing charges after being arrested during a prostitution sting in the state.

Robert Richard Titcomb, 49, allegedly solicited sex from an undercover police officer posing as a prostitute, Hawaii News Now reports. Titcomb was one of four arrested during the sting, Hawaii Police Department says.

Titcomb was released on $500 bail and will appear in court next month.

Obama and Titcomb have been close friends since high school, and the pair often get together to golf and dine when Obama vacations in the state, Hawaii News Now reports.

as we all know, appearing common is not good for a leader, and can cause people to disrespect. must be careful of the company we keep. interesting news item, thanks for posting.

we had one in canada today as well. our leader who, like the american leader is in a run for re-election, was reported to have evicted people from one of his gatherings. police superiors made a terse statement about the matter; what fun.

In other words, PM Harper knew this woman was showing up with a picture of his opponent and asked the RCMP not to let her in....

there might be a little more to the story, I'm thinking.

Awish Aslam, a second-year political science student at the University of Western Ontario, told CBC News that she and a friend were trying to attend a rally with Harper on Sunday in London when they were asked to leave by an RCMP officer.

She said the officer told her that she was being removed because of her ties to the Liberals on Facebook. She had a photo of herself and Ignatieff, which was taken at a Liberal event a few days earlier.

harper has a weakness; he is conceited and deceitful. he's known to kick to the curb and shut down those who criticise or challenge him in any way.

yes, im sure he has achieved much by holding to the idea that its his way or no way. no room for ugly truth. he sucks in this dept.

there is a side story to this one as well. something of a scandal where someone in harper's office was hired and found out to have fraud charges against them. harper's buddy is the police chief and im not remembering exactly all the details here sorry about this but there is a scandal going on over there in ottawa. maybe ill look into it tomorrow. too tired right now.

yes indeed there is more to the story, im sure of it.

So you'll probably vote for Ignatieff, because he's the most honest and humble.

unless you live in Harper's riding, you won't have the opportunity to vote for him anyway.

You missed that when I posted about you voting for Ignatieff, didn't you?

Who's running in your riding?
