If I could, I would stay up reading till 3 a.m.! Old age has set in though, and as soon as I pick up a book and read a few pages, I'm sleeping. Can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing at 3, except reading or snoozing.

I'd much rather applaud NR for his love of reading and "life" than applaud either side in the partisan debates on Political Bull.

You have your priorities straight NR.

Hey NR, how does it make you feel to hear R2 say you have your priorities straight? (No pun intended) :lol2:

Please don't think that we all think you're a Liberal now!

sounds like it must be a really good book. I'll have to see if I can get Ranchwife to pick me up a copy next time she heads off to the big city. There isn'n much that is more relaxing than picking up a good book in the evening allthough I usually read till I've either finished the book or fall asleep with it on my face.

9 times outta 10, it is with the book resting quietly on his face...and the bedroom light left on!!

Wait a few years and you can join me and add "with the bifocals on"....Then when the wife comes in and takes off my glasses and turns the lights off- I wake up- and can't go back to sleep again.......

when that happens, cowboyup usually gets up, goes to the frontroom and falls asleep (again...gee, is there a pattern here) while reading the book in his recliner!! I can't win! :?

I read almost every night, may not be for long, but I read till I fall asleep, usually wake up to find my book in the floor, then the next night by the time I find my place, I'm fallin asleep again. Books last me a while. LOL
And Mr Lilly never says a word.......lamp left on and all.

If I'm reading one thats any good, tho' I usually don't read bad ones, I don't go to sleep. At least not until I've put the book down. I love to read. Dirk Pitt novels most recently. Fiction, but interesting, up to a point.

I go back and re-re-read them when I run out of fresh stuff. I can usually read a paperback in a day to a day and a half. But I have very little recall, so when I re-read them , it's almost like new!

I was like that in school, read somethin, put it down, and couldn't tell ya what it was about. Now, even tho I fall asleep readin, I retain way more of what I read......who knows why??? lol, most likely because it's somethin "I chose" to read and not somethin someone made me read.
Ever now n then I find a really good book and end up stayin up till all hours of the night/mornin readin, but not often.

Good books are like an old friend I don't mind revisiting them again after awhile-I've read 'Lonesome Dove' more than once. Hey why wouldn't I appreciate Reader 2nd telling me I have my priorities straight-lifes too short to stereotype or pigeon hole people-thank god or I'd think all Texans were like a certain funny hatted feller on here and that just wouldn't be right now would it.
