Entirely despicable but not a thing anyone can do about it. Supreme Court ha already ruled it's not illegal. (Remember that the next time you want to flip off a cop...that's not illegal either according to SCOTUS)

it appears some feel there is something we can do about it..

A Facebook firestorm has erupted over a photo of a visitor "clowning around" near the Tomb of the Unknowns at Arlington National Cemetery - and now there's an online campaign to cost that visitor her job.

Lindsey Stone, a visitor from Cape Cod, was on a work trip to the Washington area last month when she and a co-worker visited Arlington,

A sign at the Tomb of the Unknowns, among the most solemn places in the cemetery that calls itself "our Nation's most hallowed ground," asks for "Silence and Respect."

Stone's co-worker shot a photo of Stone next to that sign, her middle finger raised, and mugging as if she is shouting loudly.

Stone posted the photo to her Facebook page, and quickly received a flurry of furious reaction, reports Gonzalez.

Stone had taken to Facebook in her own defense, saying she was "challenging authority in general. Much like the pic posted the night before, of me smoking right next to a no smoking sign."

Stone and her co-worker are is now on unpaid leave from their job at LIFE, a non-profit organization that provides housing for people with disabilities in the Cape Cod area, and which paid for the trip.

The organization said it was conducting an investigation, and issued a statement:

"This photograph in no way reflects the opinions or values of the LIFE organization, which holds our nation's veterans in the highest regard."

Stone was on a work related trip at the employers expense... and the conduct is not acceptable. so she could easily get fired..

she has apologized and is currently on unpaid leave..

I seldom call for the firing of someone over something stupid unless they have a history of stupid actions.. or are a public servant (politician)

this may turn out similar to guy who yelled at the poor chick fil a server .. and was fired..

both are poor judgement and their employers must decide if that lack of maturity and judgement is enough to fire them..

Isn't it interesting how far we have progressed.
I can't remember things like this happening in the 50's.

Steadily being brought into th 21st century by the "Progressives". Personally I think someone should have cut that finger off and stuck it up her a$$, then down her throat.

Lindsey Stone — the Plymouth woman taking an online beating for posting a photo of herself flipping the bird at Arlington National Cemetery on Facebook — has lost her job.

"Lindsey resigned and we accepted her resignation," LIFE Inc. CEO Diane Enochs told the Herald tonight.

While I totally and 100% disagree with what she did I would like to use this opportunity to educate her on respect for our military. If she gets reprimanded to the highest degree she will probably be bitter and anti military from now on. Will that just create a hard core leftist?

"Whoa whoa whoa ... wait," "This is just us, being the douchebags that we are, challenging authority in general ... OBVIOUSLY we meant NO disrespect to people that serve or have served our country."
I dont call that an apology I call that justifying your actions.

I know if I did that I would never have survived my warden let alone worry about if I was fired or left on my own LOL
I guess she has now or hopefully, learned there are consequences to your actions.

I'm more of the thought that all her friends sympatize with her and
in their many discussions (more like cussings) will decide
the law is wrong and they are right. "Next time, we'll _______________
(fill in the blanks) and we'll show them."

I hope I'm wrong.

The anti establishment, anti-military hippies of the 60s and 70s have infested academia for some time now. This is the fruit of their labors.
