"I support the troops, but not the war." How many times have we heard that from the far left Hollywood types?

No matter the count, I don't believe them. I don't believe, even for a little bit, that they support the troops. They don't support them, but won't say as much. They know the firestorm they'd find themselves in if they publicly espoused their true feelings about the military. So they stick to the cliché line, and leave others outside Hollywood, like Cindy Sheehan, to speak for them.

We never see or hear any of the "We support the troops..." from them, but we get plenty of "... but not the mission" from them.

If they honestly supported the troops we would hear it in their words and we would see it in their actions. Their support is conspicuously absent, but their anti-mission rhetoric and protests are plentiful.

If they supported the troops we would see them following in the footsteps of their Hollywood predecessors on overseas USO tours. If they supported the troops, we would occasionally find them taking some sort of action, or making some sort of speech reflecting that support. But none exist.

If they actually supported the troops, they would be making movies to tell the stories of their heroism. They would be reliving the battles of Afghanistan and Iraq on the big screen, showing the success we've had, the prowess and audacity of our troops, and sharing the courage and strength of young wives and families carrying on here at home.

But then again, their disdain for the military and its mission may have isolated them so far from what's really happening in the war on terror they might not have any ideas for positive movies about this war.

How many of you objected to Bill Clinton sending troops to Bosnia? Did that mean you didn't support the troops?

Well I for one didn't object. What about you, you seem to be so concerned about our troops what was your postition on that one? :liar:

as for Bosnia....I didn't fully agree with the decision, but I never posted to one site, or went to a single protest, in fact other then debating the potential out come ( US still being involved years later) and if we would be the eventual target (such as in the Korean war)

I would say that compared to his desimating our troops it was not much of a real concern....so no I didn't object, I just prayed it would eventually bring the safe return of our troops.....

in hindsite the peace in that small region was worth the cost....

and looking at his other great military action.when he sent our troops packing....did you object?

I objected when he sent "thousands" of career service members home with out as much of a thank you.....did you?

At some point--which we may not discern at the time--we will put ourselves on course for the failure of American arms in a future conflict.

The New York Times assures us our forces are adequate
Guess Clinton forgot to ask the professional soldier?

Clinton forced our great military out the door, and I objected.....and still do,.... did you?

1) I knew Klinton was lieing ('cause his lips were moving) when he said they'd be home in a year.

2) I have some hostilities toward France and Germany, and US troops in Bosnia reduced their responsibilities.

3) I dislike the cost and nature of policing.

I still deferred to Klinton's access to intel deeming the unpalatable necessary.

Still, all these "WHAT"S THE EXIT STRATEGY" A$$clowns never asked Klinton this question, and Republicans never exploited the unpalatable requisite for political scheming. Joe lieberman and Zel Miller must wonder what the hell they've gotten themselves into.

Yeah in Bosnia we are over there saving muslim lives. You would think it would make us popular with muslims around the world?Or at least in Bosnia? Haha Yeah right! Did you see the Asama Bin Laden poster in Beruit?
Good point about USO tours. I was watching a show last night about Korea 50 to 53. USO tours and soldiers used to get regular trips to Japan for R&R. The average soldier saw a lot less action than what todays soldier is seeing.
F Hollyweird, dont watch their movies. Especially anti war stuff like Jar Head.
