do we remember when.. Pilosi raised all the budgets...

well..

The new House Speaker, John Boehner, says he will move on Thursday to cut lawmakers' office budgets by 5%.

Of course, that won't make a dent in the nation's deficit. But for 435 lawmakers, who last year were allotted about $1.5 million each, the cut will mean trimming their budgets by $75,000 -- the equivalent of about 1.5 full-time staffers.

The cuts will save $35 million, or 0.001% of the $3.5 trillion annual federal budget.

Boehner says the incoming Republicans have to start somewhere. "And we're going to start there," Boehner said.

Boehner's plan focuses on reducing the operating budgets of House committees, leadership offices and individual member offices. Senate funding won't be affected.

the dems comment to everything is how small it is compared to the whole budget.. maybe they should learn.. to US $35 million is a huge chunk of change!

it might be a small start... but it is a start.. and every great journey starts with one small step..

Is it still Bush's fault that oil is going up like it is.

The answer is NO as if it was the liberals and the liberal bias Media would be all over it. If they are staying quiet about it you know it is the Obama's policies fault and they don't want anyone to bring up the subject. All is well with the lack of jobs, skyrocketing debt and energy prices as long as it is a result of the Dems policies. But God help the Republicans if they cause the problem. And proof of this is when Bush ran up the debt and they all screamed bloody murder and burned Bush in effigy but when Obama tripled down on the debt Nothing Nota Not one damn word about the 5 Trillion dollars that incompetent twit has tacked onto the debt in TWO YEARS
