Newsweek -
6 p.m. -- Authorities lift the order for people stay in their homes and reopen Boston transit. Gov. Deval Patrick says people must remain vigilant because “there is still a very, very dangerous individual at large.” Col. Timothy Alben of Massachusetts State Police says the suspect has not been apprehended but vows that he will be.
7 p.m. -- A barrage of gunfire is fired in a Watertown neighborhood.
7:35 p.m. -- A resident spots a person in a boat in the backyard of Watertown home. Authorities say the resident saw blood leading to the boat and thermal imaging then showed a person inside it.
8:05 p.m. -- Police move in on the boat and believe the suspect is hiding there.
8:45 p.m. -- Suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, is captured alive, police say.
Upon hearing that the second suspect has been caught, residents in the neighborhood break out in spontaneous applause as a week of terror concludes.

I was looking at timelines earlier today...didn't find this one. I was pretty sure that the "lock down" was lifted, before they had cornered the 2nd brother. But that was just going by news reports.

At what time did the officer deliver the milk, to the woman that could not get out...

I have a friend that was under "lockdown" and he had to race out to move his car, so it was not ticketed. Seems the street sweeper was on it's way down the street and "bylaw" was racing ahead of them...

I have seen mistakes in about all the reporting.. many contradictory..

He was taken into custody around 8:42 p.m. EDT after a standoff[99][100] and transported to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where he was listed in serious condition.[101] According to authorities, Tsarnaev apparently tried to kill himself, judging by the gunshot wound to his neck.[102]

like the part about him being unarmed

how could he try to kill himself and have a gunshot wound.. without a gun?

the truth will come out over the next few days.. the mistakes will be corrected..

and at some point we will have a better idea of what happened..

finding contradictions in the medias reporting is not that unusual..

finding them when they are relying on witnesses and sources is to be expected these days..

they used to call it sloppy reporting..

and what about this?

NBC News reports seven IEDs were recovered in the searches so far: some in Watertown and some at the Tsarnaevs' house in Cambridge.

this could this have been much worse.

This I can understand. There were IED's in one of the cars they were riding in and also at their house in Cambridge.

But what I CAN'T understand is why there were TWO sets of what sounded like gunfire after he was discovered in the boat?

The first was 20-30 rounds.

An hour or so later:
The second was much more. (It sounded more like firecrackers)

The Police Chief acknowledged there was an "Exchange Of Gunfire".

Unless one of several hundred policemen hastily shot him and didn't fess up.
(Stranger things have happened).

Oh, the irony...I would think a Muslim would hate being kept alive in a hospital named..."Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center"

I saw that as well and chuckled a bit..

Correct. But soon after the lockdown was lifted, some reporters heard gunshots (20-30) about two blocks away.

All of a sudden, the ambulances swarmed in with police running everywhere. (I was watching it live.)

Shortly after, the news reported a homeowner had called 911 to tell them about someone in his boat in the backyard.

Soon after, there were more shots fired (along with flash-bangs)

I think someone jumped the gun and shot him in the boat the first time and claimed he was shooting back.

That's what I think & I'm sticking to it until more comes out...............

when I saw the early reports of the first shootout it sounded like barney at the ok corral... later the accounts with facts, it made alot of sense..

Did the police first on the boat scene shoot first.. it wouldn't be the first time..

did the "suspect" shoot himself.. without a gun? doubtful

the facts will come out.. and if an officer shot without being shot at he needs to be disciplined and maybe fired..

maybe when the first cop took out his gun it went off? and the others.. "returned fire"..

and that will all come down to if the suspect was armed or not..

there are pictures of the boat, post arrest. Take a look at them and see if you notice many bullet holes in the boat.

You don't have to do that. The neighbors are getting together donations to replace the owners boat. Supposedly, it's full of holes.

The guy was fanatic about his boat.

BOSTON (WABC) -- Efforts are underway to reward an unlikely hero of the manhunt for the Boston Marathon bombing suspects.

He's the man who sacrificed a prize possession to help authorities capture the fugitive. David Henneberry called police when he suspected Dzhokhar Tsarneav was hiding out in his boat in his backyard.

The tip proved to be key in capturing Tsarnaev.
Unfortunately, the rare 21-foot Seahawk boat is now riddled with bullets.
But people are raising money to help Henneberry replace the boat he cherished.
Neighbors are total strangers are rallying around one of Watertown's heroes.
After watching Friday's dramatic capture, California podcaster Richard Bliss posted a YouTube video, calling for people to donate money to replace Henneberry's boat, which was destroyed in the gunfight.
"I just wanted to do something just to say we're thinking about you and we're supporting you and everybody in Boston," said Bliss. "There's so much pain and so loss that's happened there and this just seems like another senseless loss."
Henneberry's boat, which a neighbor called 'his baby', was ravaged by gunfire.
"He's completely shocked and he says, 'my poor boat, my poor boat.' I mean he's taken care of that boat meticulously since he's had it and now it's full of holes," said neighbor George Pizzuto.

Oh please...we can't give the police credit for doing a good job and claim one mis-fired his weapon, that triggered (no pun intended), off a volley of shots.

I would think that there is more chance of mistakes being made, with the increased number of officers onsite. In which case, if mistakes were made, due to number, then it may have been "overkill", for the situation.

A point that has been made.

With the number of officers present, is it any woner that there was the chance for mistakes and miscommunication? I think not.

Yet they still accomplished their objective, so...job well done.

Unless defense attorneys have a hey-day. I have seen people get off for less..............

Take Bill Ayers for example........

To back-track to Mike's post about the boat-owner's neighbors ... to bad they didn't direct that unselfish financial charity 100% to those that have lost limbs, those that are still in critical condition with unknown futures; physically and mentally.

Can you imagine what those victims and their families are dealing with!!!!
F--K the boat  (it's been a long day for me- sorry)
