Does virus vaccine increase the risk of cancer?

The swine flu vaccine has been hit by new cancer fears after a German health expert gave a shock warning about its safety.

Lung specialist Wolfgang Wodarg has said that there are many risks associated with the vaccine for the H1N1 virus.

He has grave reservations about the firm Novartis who are developing the vaccine and testing it in Germany. The vaccination is injected “with a very hot needle”, Wodarg said.

The nutrient solution for the vaccine consists of cancerous cells from animals and "we do not know if there could be an allergic reaction".

But more importantly, some people fear that the risk of cancer could be increased by injecting the cells.

The vaccine - as Johannes Löwer, president of the Paul Ehrlich Institute, has pointed out - can also cause worse side effects than the actual swine flu virus.

Wodrag also described people’s fear of the pandemic as an "orchestration": “It is great business for the pharmaceutical industry,” he told the ‘Neuen Presse’.

Swine flu is not very different from normal flu. “On the contrary if you look at the number of cases it is nothing compared to a normal flu outbreak,” he added.

The chairman of the health committee in the European Council has urged for a careful and calm reaction to the virus.

Up until now, the producers of the vaccine did not know how many orders they would have by the autumn, but the German Government is now a guaranteed customer.

Even the pharmaceutical companies are trying to exploit the fear of the swine flu pandemic.

I would never get a flu vaccine or let my kids! Normal healthy people do not die from flu! People that die from flu are those with other medical problems and the flu becomes a complication.

What if they mandate mandatory vaccinations?

In view of the swine-flu pandemic, which is spreading like wildfire in the world especially in the western countries, the World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended mandatory H1N1 vaccination of everyone in all 194 countries that belong to the WHO.

“Vaccines will be needed in all countries”, WHO said. Health workers, pregnant women, healthy young adults of 15 to 49 years, and healthy children will be the targeted groups of the world wide vaccine effort to face the swine flu threat.

“All countries should immunize their health-care workers as a first priority to protect the essential health infrastructure. As vaccines available initially will not be sufficient, a step-wise approach to vaccinate particular groups may be considered,” WHO is reported to have recommended.

So with insufficient supply of vaccines Government will prioritize which people get them first??

Isn't this Government rationed health care?

Its happened for years- with some of the other influenza outbreaks when they couldn't get vaccine made fast enough...It happened a couple of years ago when their was a vaccine shortage because of some lab screw up....They prioritized those they felt needed it worse...
Interestingly the WHO priorities with H1N1 are a little different this time-- focusing first on health care workers (which is only right since they will be the ones needed to care for all the sick if an epidemic comes along)- then those with immunity problems- then instead of the older folks like usual, with H1N1 they target the younger up to 20 year old range in which it has been shown to cause much more problems than with the older folks.....

And I listened to the National Disease control administrator talking the other day...They are not considering mandatory shots...This rumor came up when some of the state health agencies set in place to vaccinate kids at school- since this is the quickest and easiest place to do them- but he said they would still need parent permission to do so....No different than the old vaccinations we used to get in grade school when I was going- you had to bring a parent permission slip...
