When I woke up this AM, I thought that the predicted rain must not have happened again. Then as it lightened up, I see that there are puddles of rain standing all over my road. To quote FH again, "YIPPEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

It is raining again now, and is supposed to keep it up through tomorow noon.

I was beginning to think our forecasted rain was sorta like a sign in a Bar window that said "free Beer tomorrow". And they never changed the sign. We have had rain in our forcast for a long time, and this is the first that amounted to anything for a while.

Well, you've got puddles...that's more than we've got :? But I'm glad someone does! And it even waited for you to get done preconditioning? You must be living right :)

I hope it comes down all day and night. It rained again here yesterday nice and easy all day so should be up north by now. The drought broke the first Sat of Husker football 85,000+ wet fans. Rain every weekend.

They have been so dry back at the ranch north of Highmore, SD. We made it home last weekend to precondition calves. Just got them sorted off the cows and here came the rain :!: :!: Standing on a metal tub catwalk, and lightning started popping everywhere. Brother in law said " we must be idiots". Had to stop 2 times before we got them done but it was worth it for the rain

It started raining here last night and must have rained all night.
We have gotten close to an inch so far and it is still raining.
We got our calves preconditioned yesterday. We weighed them too
and they are some lighter than normal. Just wasn't a good summer
here. But they don't look droughty, so we are happy about that and
they are all healthy.

I'm so happy many that need rain are getting some.

Yea it's raining here to. Looks really wet but never made the trek to the farside of dad's house to check the guage. Brother in law called from 4 miles south to tell my son not to bother coming to work today.
The crested wheat grass might get a flush and the prairie is looking greener thensince Juky 1st. Guess I can go empty the fire tank.

JB, you got me beat just a bit. I had .80" in the guage about an hour ago, still coming down. My closest neighbor had .60" Listening to the radio reports it sounds like .75 - 1.20 range over a big area.

I moved hay yesterday, glad I got that job done! :D

Wow! It rained here also, a little over an inch. Started raining at 4:30 last night. Our biggest rain of the year by more than .40. Maybe now we can get a little green grass going and maybe some wild mushrooms. Let's hope it keeps coming! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Yippee is right! Up to 1.75" and still raining here. Gonna make it kind of late finishing up wheat planting and weaning, but will definitely take it!

WE have a biggun rolling in, or so they weather folks are saying... Hail, damaging winds and tornados are in the warning for today... More rain would be nice as we are charging the water table with it but I really don't need that other stuff... Sure is windy already though.. Weaned calves yesterday and am enjoying the seronading cows and calves.. Yikes, loud group this year.

We're under a tornado warning now. Good rain to go with it. I don't mind a bit.

Just started now, raining at least, tornado fired to the east of us, next county over.. Looking at the radar the storm is litterly devloping right over head.. WE may or may not get a lot of rain, 1 inch would be nice... 2 inches would tick the farmers off 3 inches and we might float away, lo,... I don't mind it really, I am just crossing my fingers and hopping for no frosts for another 2 weeks.

Well after two weeks steady rain we'll see how happy you all are :?

:)

I hear ya, Mrs. Greg. This is getting old already. Too wet to combine, too wet to haul bales, too wet to clean corrals, too wet to move cattle. The owner of the local auction mart is coming to look at our calves tomorrow, he wants them in this upcoming week's sale. We're trying to figure out how we're going to get them out of the pastures without getting stuck! Haven't come up with a plan A let alone a plan B!
