Republican donors are flocking to Rick Santorum as he climbs New Hampshire opinion polls after his performance in Iowa and works to land endorsements from influential evangelical Christian leaders.

Mr Santorum raised $1 million - as much as he had previously raised in total - the day after coming within eight votes of beating Mitt Romney, the front-runner for the nomination, in the Iowa caucus.

"Fifty per cent of all the money we've raised we've raised today," he told a rally in New Hampshire. He earlier told The Daily Telegraph: "We'll have a lot more in the coming days."

As a GOP voter in Iowa, I was completely undecided about who was going to get my support this past Tuesday night until New Years Weekend.

Like Senator Rick Santorum, i'm a Catholic and had no idea the Senator was a Catholic until I saw it on a Catholic message board. After examining Senator Santorum's stance on various issues, I found he was most in line with me and it wasn't until New Years Weekend that I decided to throw my support behind Senator Santorum.
