Domestic surveillance

Disagreeable

Well-known member
Well, Bush is pushing hard for the lame duck Congress to pass some of his pet bills. I wonder if he'll get it done. Judging from how many Republicans ran away from him in the campaign, one wonders if they'll be anxious to cover his behind now.

Link below; my emphasis.

"The legislation, which the president calls the Terrorist Surveillance Act, would retroactively authorize warrantless domestic surveillance. It has drawn strong opposition from Democrats and some Republicans worried about constitutional issues, invasion of privacy and presidential overreach."

If he hasn't been listening to us illegally, why is he so anxious to get this retroactively authorized? I think we all know the answer to that.
