Don Imus?

Yep... 2 week suspension so far.. Why he is still on the air is beyond me, it is like listening to a corpse do 3 hours of radio.. And if you watch him on MSNBC it looks like one too.... He should consider himself lucky that he is only getting two weeks, others have gotten more for less things said and this isn't exactly his first incident with this stuff.

I'm still kind of hung in the middle with the "Free Speech" stuff and the Constitution and all.

You would think the market (listening audience) would/could sort it all out.

There are heckuva lot worse things said in some of those "Gangsta" rap albums........................

Has "Political Correctness" gone too far?

If Rosey can babble her crapola than Don Imus should be allowed to babble his....

Leave it up to the listening audience/sponsors....

Sure, Gangster rap is worse than anything he said. Has political correctness gone too far? Sure.. Which is why I am surprised he has not been canned by WNBC (I think that is the readio station he is on or WFAN?) or MSNBC... The Government wouldn't the the one censoring him if his employers did.. I mean, if you had an employee who said things that you felt embarassed you and might cost you money I am guessing you miht give him/her a warning once, maybe twice but eventually you are going to cut him/her loose.

MY beef with Imus is his show is just down right horrible.. Do I think what he said was approbriate? Nope... Do I think it was a funny joke? Nope... Was it the worst thing I have ever heard on the radio? Nope, have you listend to how bad pop music is these days

Put the shoe on the other foot. If some black rapper was quoted as saying some white girls were blonde skanks wif tats, would it even make the news? Would Rev. Al and the Very Right True Brother Doctor Reverend Jizzy Jackson be up in arms about it? Three guesses and the first two don't count.

Imus put his foot in his mouth, and he's an idiot, but, c'mon........the playas trash whitey way worse every day, but we never hear about it......

The PC crap and the race thing has gone waaaaay too far. Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn banned from schools. The dreaded "N" word. OJ can hack his white wife's head off and get away with it.

Now where are my nitro pills?..........................

I can[t beleive you have never heard of him.. I mean, he has to be popular out west, he wears a cowboy hat on his show

I watched it once for 45 minutes or an hour while I was doing something, paper work probably and I had heard that he was a legendary talk show host.. Now, I generally will only lisen to music or sports on the radio and a few select shows but god was he boring.. It was like watching paint dry or grass grow without the drama involved in those two events.. It was just boring as all get up.. Maybe it is just a east coast thing that makes him popular but if I lived over there and all I heard was stuff like that I think I would be investing heavily in CD's/

Steve.. I have an incredilbe tolerance to pain and am incredibly stubborn when it comes to not getting up to change the channel.. The real question is who the heck was watching what on MSNBC the night before? Also, I am sure I was probably only vaguely listiening to it while doing some paper work or rough schedualing.

I can't say for sure why I watched as long as I did... In fact, it might have just seemed like an hour   Could it be something like he has always been there and he used to be good/thought prevoking so he is basically living off his legacy more than anything current that he provides... I think there are tons of celebs that are basically in that role these days..

There are many things I have listend to on the radio that I wish I hadn't off, but I kind of like hearing what other folks are saying, even when I don't agree with it... Not too much of it but every now and again a few minutes won't kill me.

He doesn't even act like he knows how to speak into the mike
correctly.

I tried watching him years ago...but gave up...thankfully.

He is just horrible. One thing good, he has a ranch for needy boys
or young people. (I guess he does)...

The black people need to give us the rules on what we can and can't say. We can't go by what they say we have to have a different set of rules. We have the right to say whatever we want in this country, if someone doesn't like what is said on the radio then turn it off, thats another right we have. I'm so sick of this save us from ourselves BS. If you took every CD away that referenced HO's not ONE black artist would be left on the charts. These Rutgers womens feeling aren't hurt, it all one big dog and pony show. What a bunch of wussies this country is turning into.

Wow, I don't care if you like Don Imus or not, that is not the point. You should be able to say whatever you want on your own radio show. I would like to see the proof about the vegetarian meals. I guess i've seen it all now when a person from Wyoming sides with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

Re-read jodywy's post again, WHSH. He merely reported a news story. That does not in any way indicate that he agrees with what the news story said, or would "side" with Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

His ranch is for Kids with cancer, they do work and clean stalls ect. His idea is for them to have a normal ranch experience. I do believe they eat only vegetables. He calls his wife the green ho.
