I can't support increasing the pool of non tax payers. Creating a voting majority of people unaffected by tax increases doesn't make sense.

Those same folks think they are paying too much by paying FICA.

FICA really grinds my gears. For the total contributions a working stiff makes, (employer contributions are just another stealth tax) he should retire young and affluent. Not on cat food.

If taxes weren't deducted each week from the ordinary Joe's paycheck, there would be a revolt. It's amazing the number of people I hear saying they didn't pay any taxes, to the contrary, "I'm getting money back"!!!!!!!

A bill should be passed requiring the IRS to report the total contribution a person has made to the US Treasury when they receive each year's tax payment.

In addition, ss payments should be figured for not only total payment, but what a those funds would be had they been invested in the US stock market's index fund.

If the powers that be hadn't figured out a long time ago to take income taxes out of every check and those people had to pay up once a year, there would have been a tax revolt a long time ago. I'm like Mike, people don't know what they pay in every year, but they
know how much they are going to get back.

David Ramsey, in his financial courses, brings out not letting the government use your money for FREE. Don't take so many deductions and use the money yourself....but people don't change easily.
