What we need is some man power. I see lots of excellent ideas here, just need someone to do the legwork. Jigs, can you contact RFD-TV? That is a great idea, BTW.
Who wants to try the tv stations?
Who wants to try the radio stations?
Maybe mrj would contact the SD Stockgrowers?
Who wants to try the publications? Denny, can you call Farm and Ranch Guide?
How about Fence Post? Who gets that publication?
Wyoming Wind, will you call Wyoming Roundup? Who wants to call Tri-State Livestock News? Cattle Business Weekly?
I'll do the livestock auctions in SD, Montana and Wyoming unless someone else wants to do all or part of them. Just speak up. I don't know the owners in SD, except Paul Hoffman at Lemmon. I do know some in Montana and will contact them.
Soapweed, are you up to contacting the auctions in Nebraska?
Right now, we need to get the word out...livestock auctions do a lot of
advertising, and it won't cost them any more to add something about the
Ranchers.net relief fund. Is that what you all want to call it? Or can you think of something better? I'm open for suggestions.
I think the first order of business is to contact the banks involved to set up a place for monetary dontations. Then the livestock auctions can get that word out. I called today, but didn't get the person I needed. I will try again tomorrow. If you have a good relationship with a bank, please contact them and get back to us. More than one bank can receive funds I would think.
I think the banks we contact to handle the money should be in SD since that is where the devastation is. Does anyone have a different idea?
Again, how do we decide who is the receipent of what we get donated; money or cattle? That has me more concerned than anything. :???:
Thanks for the interest. Remember, this is a joint effort!!! If you have ideas, or suggestions, just post them here!! The more the better!
