He lies. So don't let him tell you that this surveillance doens't eavesdrop on Americans right here in the US. Link below; my emphasis.

"A surveillance program approved by President Bush to conduct eavesdropping without warrants has captured what are purely domestic communications in some cases, despite a requirement by the White House that one end of the intercepted conversations take place on foreign soil, officials say.
The officials say the National Security Agency's interception of a small number of communications between people within the United States was apparently accidental, and was caused by technical glitches at the National Security Agency in determining whether a communication was in fact "international."
Telecommunications experts say the issue points up troubling logistical questions about the program. At a time when communications networks are increasingly globalized, it is sometimes difficult even for the N.S.A. to determine whether someone is inside or outside the United States when making a cellphone call or sending an e-mail message. As a result, people that the security agency may think are outside the United States are actually on American soil."

The concerns led to a secret audit, which did not reveal any abuses in focusing on suspects or instances in which purely domestic communications were monitored, said officials familiar with the classified findings.

it was possible,,, but an audit found no abuses......so where is the story..

Maybe you should read the real abuses of Clinton, Gore and Reno, that shut our monitering system down,,,,,......

FBI's Illegal Carnivore Runs Amuck With Congress & Public - Government Activity

Carnivore is a name given to a system implemented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation that is analogous to wiretapping except in this case it is email that is being tapped instead of telephone conversations. It is a form of policeware.

U.S. Government officials will confirm or deny little about the physical or logical workings of Carnivore,

But it was not nearly as bad as the"ECHELON", "Clipper Chip" or was it?

So if you were worried about GW Bush Spying on international calls, then you would be really worried about the programs Clinton, Gore and Reno trompled on our rights to impliment......

or Dragonet?

or Omnivore?

When you start loking it is amazing how much Clinton, Gore, and Reno were spying on US.....why weren't the liberals whining then about our privacy?

oops they were already investigating Clinton's dirty little secret in Nov. of 2000......

You're kidding, right? Sad to say you're probably not. All I see at your link:
http://www.epic.org/privacy/carnivore/carnivorequestions.html is half blacked out documents. What's that supposed to mean?

No one ever said our government can't eavesdrop on citizens of this country. But they need a warrant. Please show me at this link where Clinton ever eavesdropped using Carnivore without a warrant? Otherwise, I'll just continue to enjoy the laughs I get from your posts.

Obviously things have changed since that investigation since the article lead off with:

"The officials say the National Security Agency's interception of a small number of communications between people within the United States was apparently accidental, and was caused by technical glitches at the National Security Agency in determining whether a communication was in fact "international."
