I'm not saying that hate Crimes laws don't need to be strengthened, but are they not already present in most States? No mention of race hatred either, except to single out Latinos, what's up with that?

AG Holder urges new hate crimes law

WASHINGTON (AP) - Attorney General Eric Holder says recent violent attacks show the need for a tougher hate crimes law.

Holder, speaking Tuesday at a luncheon for civil rights lawyers, noted the recent killings of an abortion doctor in Kansas, a soldier in Little Rock, and a guard at the Holocaust Museum in Washington.

He called the attacks brazen acts committed in once-unthinkable places, and said it is past time for Congress to strengthen hate crimes laws to prosecute violence based on gender, disability, or sexual orientation. He also said tougher laws are needed to deal with the increase in hate crimes against Latinos.

The attorney general said the United States must not tolerate murder cloaked in claims of political activism.

Several existing laws were broken in the holocaust scenario. He's dead. He's not going to be put on trial for the laws violated.

It is really surprising you are not hearing more out of the gun control advocates on this one. You'd think they'd want to ban fertilizer and off road fuel when it came to the Murray Federal Building.

Yes. It is against the law to murder or maime someone - for whatever reason.

When you start prosecuting people for their "Thoughts" instead of their "Actions", it's time for somone to put their foot down.

Laws like this are unwarranted.....................
