Don't you hate it

Don't you hate it when someone lies and gets rewarded?

John McCain claimed he was suspending his campaign until the financial crisis is over. When I turned on the TV this afternoon, it was all over the news about the risk he was taking; the internet pundits all say what a bold move on his part. Apparently the daily tracking polls show Americans approve of this "bold step." But again he's lying through his teeth. His people were making the rounds on cable news channels. The Huffington Post called 15 McCain offices around the country, EVERY ONE OF THEM was open for business. His TV ads are still running across the country. Apparently the media is going to let him get away with this. Again, biggest liar wins. :(

You know, of course, that this is not the first time he's ditched a debate because he didn't think he'd do well? In 2000 he withdrew from a debate with Bush in CA. Under pressure, he finally agreed to debate via video link. It was a disaster for him. So this withdrawal from the debate is not because of any financial crisis: it's a political ploy that he's used before.

If it is a political ploy, then smart move! I want a smart man as President vs a stupid one that say if you need me to come do my job call me otherwise I am out looking out for myself, despite the fact I draw a pay check to be a Senator!

Ps. Do you really think McCain should have sent home all them volunteers that answer the phone and called and canceled all them adds that were shot and paid for days ago...............do you really believe this stuff

FYI we do not need his secretary at some election office in Podunk to go help spear head a solution. It will be just fine for her to stay and answer the phone  ..........can you say anything stupider?

fff I should hire you to pick fruit. You really no how to reach. I'd never have to move a ladder again.

Maybe you'd make a great supervisor. Just give everyone the day off with pay until this crisis is over.

Stop the rivers from flowing. Contributions mailed in last Monday should not arrive in the mail until this is over.

Air time already purchase and scheduled should just be sacraficed.

It all depends on whether you are watching CNN, ABC, CBS, or FOX. Each one seem to be airing different clips and painting a different spin.

Watch this. These are alice's words from above with the media spin applied:

Dang, I knew I should've researched that a bit more. Oh well, as I remember, canceling, postponing, the price tag is still the same.

Some things are more important than a dang debate. Washington is talking about taking unprecidented action in business and, in the process, spend 700 Billion dollars that we don't have. The next president is going to have to make the deal work or it could send us into the deepest depression that we've ever had. He had better be in the middle of this deal now so he knows what the heck is going on. McCain knows this, but 'ol Junior obviously doesn't understand the gravity, he just wants to flap his lips and say "change" a couple hundred more times.

Fox just showed a clip with dubya summoning both McCain and Obama to the table to discuss the bailout.

That airing is going to make liars out of other media not showing the clip.

Yep...and a lot of disappointed people even if they DO debate at a latter date. Personally it doesn't matter to me but I'm sure a lot of folks have plans made or to make and would like to know something one way or the other.

Can not figure out why they have a debate on Friday night H.S. football time anyway! Maybe because Conservatives watch football and liberals watch soccer

Your hero's words:

On John McCain suspending the campaign to work on bailout..

"I presume he did that in good faith, since I know he wanted - I remember he asked for more debates to go all around the country. And so, I don't think we ought to overly parse that. Let's deal with this issue."
