The Two Things To Know Before Your City is Nuked By Terrorists
By Douglas MacKinnon
Wednesday, August 15, 2007

1.) Tragically, horrifyingly, but quite predictably, it’s going to happen. The only question being which American city or cities?

In a recent conversation with a former high level intelligence operative of our government, I raised the possibility of terrorists successfully detonating a nuclear weapon within the United States. His response was sobering in its hopelessness.

First, he stressed how grateful he was that he did not work in Washington, DC, and that his family lived far enough out to survive the coming nuclear blast. When I pressed him as to why he was so sure that Islamic terrorists – with or without the help of Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez – would eventually hit DC or another American city with a nuclear weapon, his anger boiled out.

He pointed the finger squarely at our politicians and our politically correct, left-leaning media, who, in his opinion, have “sealed our fate.” He spoke of politicians from both sides of the aisle who consider border security nothing more than a cheap tool to be used for their reelection and enrichment. He despaired about a media that not only gleefully leaks our nation’s most trusted secrets for partisan gain, but then willingly acts as a propaganda tool for the very terrorists intent on our total destruction.

He warned of the hundreds of “loose nukes” floating around our planet. He patiently explained that the former Soviet Union (no matter what they or our government claim), can’t account for a number of their nuclear warheads. That North Korea may well have a few they are willing to sell to terrorists to prop up their totalitarian regime. That Pakistan – already a nuclear power – may soon fall victim to the Islamic extremists trying to overthrow that government. Of an Iran further ahead in their development of nuclear weapons than thought. And last, but not least, he spoke of the thousands of cruise missiles unaccounted for around the world. A number of those missiles being nuclear tipped.

In short, because of what he portrayed as a “betrayal by those sworn to protect us,” a nuclear attack within our nation, in his mind, is “inevitable.”

2.) When said attack comes, you and your family are on your own. Period. My friend stressed that “our government won’t be there to help us. It is broken beyond repair and incapable of assisting those most affected by the blast.”

He talked of critical infrastructures like water, electricity, fuel, banks, our food supply, medical services, police and firefighters, being unavailable for weeks or months. He warned of the blind panic that would follow such an explosion. Of the looting, of neighbor turning on neighbor to take what they don’t have for their own survival. Of our economy suffering an economic loss in the trillions of dollars.

Knowing this, are you prepared? Can you and your family ride out the frighteningly unpredictable weeks or months following the loss of an American city and its inhabitants? If you are not in the city hit, can you survive?

You must ask yourself this question. For, unless there is a miraculous epiphany about to be visited upon our self-centered politicians, then such an attack is certain.

If our politicians and the voters continue to suicidally put party and partisan politics before the welfare and security of our nation, then the terrorists will find the opening to hit us.

Our government and media are failing us. Prepare for the worst.

I know of several folks in my area that have been preparing for this for several years....That have bomb shelters and pill boxes loaded with food, fuel, generators, guns (several with fully automatic weapons- one guy has a Ma Deuce- most have gobs of Chi-com AK-47's 7.62 X 39's) and ammunition- built into their quonsets or under their shops that would put the Maginot Line to shame....

They believe that either a Nuke attack will occur or that when our economy crumples (which they believe is soon) in order for the elites to make their NAU move-- that there will be panic, starvation, rebellion and rioting in the cities, and that when the urban rioters move out looking for food they will need to defend themselves....

I'm sure every area has those type people. Nothing wrong with a little planning I guess but I personally don't feel the need to stockpile anything much. We'll get by as good as the next and if I've got anything my neighbor needs, he's welcome to it. I'm a Christian and feel it's the right thing to do to help others if I can. I also have a safe place in heaven when I die so it won't worry me either way. One would be wise to worry about the eternal instead of the temporal. 50 years from now most of us will be dead either way.

Oldtimer, are these kind of a variation of Montana Freeman? Do you think they're over the edge?

Nope- just salt of the earth average people...Many of which are ranchers/wheat farmers-2nd- 3rd and 4th generation...No connection to the Freemen- altho they may have had a little sympathy for them over the tax and ranch repossession issues...Probably the most honest- least crime prone people I knew-no connection to any of the militias- those with the automatic weapons have FFL's for them-- a couple I know are FFL firearms dealers...Very Conservative, with much of the literature they had coming from the John Birch Society...

Twenty years ago when they first brought me some of their material- telling me their beliefs, I questioned if they were going over the edge-- but as the years went by and I got to know many of them a lot better (one of my deputies was an ardent believer of there being an elitist plan to globalize the world- and put in a New World Order)-- and so many of the predictions they had made years before about the NAFTA's and free trades and all the other agreements our country was making that weakened our states rights- that were now coming true and had happened- I started to take them much more serious....The looting, killing, and rebellions of New Orleans showed exactly what could happen if a major disaster strikes the major cities- or a major area of the country....

Being a firm believer in the best government being handled as close to the local level (more voter input/direct knowledge), states rights, and keeping a very open and transparent government-- the Clinton/Bush era has sure made me look at what these eltist backing politicians real agenda is...
Especially this current Bush administration that has taken away more states rights, built more Federal bureaucracy, and violated or bent the Constitution more than anyone since FDR...Also the mistruths, secrecy, and unwillingness to follow the peoples wishes on so many issues bothers me...

I just see today where now Cheney has flipflopped again and says he is part of the Administration since today it fits his agenda better  -- because GW says the Presidency/Administration is not subject to the FOIA (which they partly may not be-but that the previous Administrations have honored)- and they don't ever have to release ANY info under it.... :???: :( And the Justice Department (Gonzales) is going to back them in court... :( :( And its my belief that Gonzales will be/is being kept around to stall and cover their back til they're out of office and off the hook for any prosecution - rather than represent the people of the US like he's sworn to do ...

Cal-- something else I remembered-- when we were first looking at these folks back in the late 80's- early 90's- the only thing we found that a lot of them had in common were the older ones in the family were close descendants of European immigrant families with a great deal of them being of German descent...We often wondered if it wasn't the close ties to having watched the take over of Facism in Europe/Germany- and the anarchy of some of the hard times of Europe that had brought them to go along with these beliefs....

Oldtimer, thanks for taking the time to answer. Ideas that are out of the norm' sometimes have an interesting point of reference. Remembering some of the folks around this area that were only 1st and 2nd generation immigrants, when I was growing up, it was evident that they had a different perception of life and the economy than what I was used to. Many were dead set against farming more than a small acreage, and of course that wasn't sustainable, so these farms pretty much ended up being sold when they passed away. Many of the following generations have gotten good educations, moved away, and done very well. The work ethics that they had instilled, and having to make due with the basics, I'm sure served them well in life.
