no matter how it is said sarcastically.. the truth almost always comes out..

and part of that truth is in admitting there is a huge problem..

and listening to liberals try to say they knew this already would be somewhat amusing.. if it wasn't such a dangerous issue.

Syria crisis: Al-Nusra pledges allegiance to al-Qaeda

Al-Nusra claims to be have carried out many suicide bombings and guerrilla attacks against state targets.

On Tuesday, al-Qaeda in Iraq announced a merger with al-Nusra,

Debates among Western leaders over whether to arm Syria's rebels have often raised the concern of weapons ending up in the hands of groups such as al-Nusra.

"The sons of al-Nusra Front pledge allegiance to Sheikh Ayman al-Zawahiri," Mr Jawlani said in a recording released on Wednesday.

Even though Mr Jawlani said in the statement that al-Nusra had received help from the Islamic State in Iraq group, correspondents say al-Nusra clearly does not want to highlight those ties.

Al-Nusra is seen as trying to win the support of the population in rebel-held areas, and also to keep the goodwill of the other opposition groups who do not want to be associated with al-Qaeda.

"There has never been and there will never be a decision at the command level to coordinate with al-Nusra," Mr Meqdad went on, while admitting that there had been co-operation between FSA brigades and al-Nusra on "certain operations".

and those "rebels" are now armed with US weapons..

In Washington, administration officials said President Barack Obama had not yet signed off on a specific package of measures but had agreed in principle to increase help to the military wing of the Syrian opposition that could include battlefield gear such as body armour and night-vision goggles

Syria rebels have US-made weapons

Gen Nikolai Makarov was quoted by the Interfax news service as saying the origin of the surface-to-air missiles should be "cleared up".

A senior Russian general has said Syrian rebels now have anti-aircraft weapons, including US-made Stingers.

"We have reliable information that Syrian militants have foreign portable anti-aircraft missile systems, including those made in the USA... it should be cleared up who delivered them," Gen Makarov told journalists in Russia.

There have been earlier unconfirmed reports of the Syrian opposition having shoulder-mounted missiles In August, Syrian rebels said they had shot down a fighter jet near the border with Iraq.

I guess now after seeing Egypt and several other states devolve into radical unstable Islamic states.. one has to wonder...

who benefits from having the middle east in chaos ?

the US weapons were "run" through Benghazi, to Turkey and then to Al Queda, in Syria.

It's an "Arab Spring".

Just wait until the "arab winter soltice", when they use those weapons against Americans, or our friend Broke Cowboy.

If I were you BC, I'd retire.

Two more years and I am forced out - looking for a new job or another tour across the pond - whichever comes first I will take.

Arab spring is a misnomer perpetuated by lefties, weak dicks and idiots. It has done nothing to stabilize the desert countries - all is does is get rid of one dangerous leader and allow another to take over.

Mind you I am not an educated, multi-language speaker who brags about the people I know "over there".

The one and only benefit I have seen is that they get so busy killing each other that they leave us alone - and I for one do not have a problem with that - let them go at it for as long as possible - no pity from me. Leaves less for us to have to take care of later.

I am betting that a large number of weapons your Hussein gives to Egypt will end up in Syria. Hussein - in my opinion - is a big player is the destabilization of the middle east. And I think he is having fun doing it.

Arab spring? LOLOLOLOL!! No such thing.

Best to all

Some loads by-passed Turkey and went directly to a UN airport near Nicosia, Cyprus via cargo jet, to be loaded on helicopters bound for Syria. UN workers assisted in the unloading & loading.

I know this as fact.
