Got this in an email today.

Bluegrass legend and banjo pioneer Earl Scruggs, who helped profoundly change country music with Bill Monroe in the 1940s and later with guitarist Lester Flatt, has died. He was 88.

R.I.P. Earl.. Loved the "Beverly Hillbillies" theme song..

When I was in the Air Force in the late 50's I had a Record Player in my room. I'd go from a "Classical Record" to Earl and Lester - Drive my Classics loven Room Mate out of his mind

I was 10 years old, I think, when Lester and Earl split up. I cried like someone I loved had died. Lester died when I was in the Navy about a month apart from John Wayne.
