Lawyer Ends Up Dead After Taking On Rove

Kurt Nimmo
Thursday, December 28, 2006

It’s fishy as hell.

Paul Sanford, a prominent Aptos, California, attorney, who accused Karl Rove of treason in the Plame outing case, took a leap from the Embassy Suites Hotel in Monterey Bay on Christmas Eve. Police describe it as “probable” suicide, even though it appears Sanford was not depressed.

“Friends and associates expressed disbelief at the news of Sanford’s death and that it was ruled a suicide, saying Sanford seemed happy and had made many plans for this week and in coming months. [Business associate and friend Shawn Mills] said he and Sanford recently decided to open a shared law office to serve Monterey and Santa Cruz counties, something Sanford was looking forward to doing,” reports the Monterey Herald. “Mills said he had spoken to Sanford’s wife, Paula, and that she also was in shock. He said Sanford, a father of two, was a devoted family man.” Sanford “would never have intentionally put his family through that trauma. Something’s not right, it doesn’t make sense.”

On July 25, 2005, in the James S. Brady Briefing Room at the White House, Sanford asked then press secretary Scott McClellan about Karl Rove, accused at the time by Joseph Wilson, the husband of Valerie Plame, of outing his wife as a CIA employee in retaliation for Wilson’s op-ed published in the New York Times. Wilson criticized the citation of bogus yellowcake documents used as flimsy justification for invading Iraq and murdering more than 650,000 Iraqis.

McClellan was flummoxed by Sanford’s question:

McClellan: Go ahead.

Sanford: Yes, thank you. There has been a lot of speculation concerning the meaning of the underlying statute and the grand jury investigation concerning Mr. Rove. The question is, have the legal counsel to the White House or White House staff reviewed the statute in sufficient specificity to determine whether a violation of that statute would, in effect, constitute treason?

McClellan: I think that in terms of decisions regarding the investigation, those are matters for those overseeing the investigation to decide.

Special counsel, Patrick Fitzgerald, decided not to charge Rove in the case, even though the former Donald Segretti dirty trickster understudy raised enough suspicion to warrant being called before a grand jury five times. Neocon Lewis “Scooter” Libby was charged with obstruction of justice, perjury, and making false statements to the FBI. A few weeks later, on July 13, 2006, Joseph and Valerie Wilson filed a civil suit against Cheney, Libby, Rove, and other unnamed senior White House officials, for their alleged roles in the public disclosure of her classified CIA employment.

In addition, Sanford was “a champion of the downtrodden, he represented homeless people in Santa Cruz, and fought for free speech,” according to Mills. As well, he hosted a radio talk show at KOMY, an Air America affiliate, although he was not associated with the bankrupt network. Sanford and Mills also hosted the “Paul and Shawn Show” on Saturdays at the Seaside, California, radio station KRXA.

Of course, there is no evidence Paul Sanford was pushed from “at least nine floors” above the large ventilation grate where he met his fate. As well, there is no evidence he committed suicide, or did he fit the profile of a suicide. However, there is plenty of evidence Sanford was a thorn in the side of the neocons, committing the ultimate sin of accusing one particularly nasty top drawer neocon, Karl Rove, of treason.

Just as stupid when they come from the left (e.g., the JFK conspiracy, Warren Commission related people who died of "mysterious" causes).

I heard on the FOX news tonite that new polls show that 30% of Americans polled believe the US government/Bush administration was involved in a conspiracy involving the 9/11 disaster  :(

I don't know about anybody's love of conspiracy websites. I am not much on conpiracies myself, but I do know that global warming paranoia just bores me to tears. Get real with that. I don't give a frog's fat anything about what website you can kindly direct me too either. The fact is--we have been keeping weather records for a little over one hundred years and have no idea what the big cycles look like. Surely you can see that? As far as how many people Clinton killed on his way to the White House-- I have no idea, nor do I really care. I have pretty strong opinions on some people up in your neck of the woods, Reader2 but I'm not going to bore you with them.

Do either of your sources offer any realistic solutions? I mean, if it really is a problem, what is causing it and what can we do to stop it?

I appreciate your in-depth answer. I may not agree with everything I saw, but I do appreciate the info. I've got to load cattle in the morning and I'm not sure how early the trucks are getting here, so I'd better get some rest. We can continue this discussion tomorrow. Good night for now.

There is so many unanswered questions about Global Warming or should I say things that the Liberals and there controlled media do not want you to hear. Why would the media want to do a report on how normal the weather is and all is good. If it bleeds it Leeds as they say bad news is good news for media. Who would watch a report on How the weather is normal and holding fast to the way it has always been. Who would go watch a movie about normal weather patterns. Who would give money to special interest groups that study how normal the weather is?

when it comes to global warming a few questions that arise are, why is it that temps measured in the atmosphere show no significant changes? That when they record warming of the earth they talk about ground temps. Could it be that the changes have occurred because they no longer take and record temps in the same amount of locations around the world? Could it be that 100 years ago the temp reading for my area was in a corn field and now it is at the airport with asphalt everywhere?

They said Katrina and all the Hurricanes were due to global warming, but does that make since when the worse Hurricane decades recorded were 1941-1950 and 1881-1890. If you look at all the decades before 1960 we had more hurricanes and more severe ones than from 1960 till today. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/pastdec.shtml But Liberals love to show us how bad the Hurricanes are now, because they live in a Now society instead of looking up history. They should learn to Google also.

They like to point out how Glaciers are melt, well they have melted in the past. Sometimes things melt sometimes things freeze. They do not like to mention that at the same time in one part of the country the Glaciers are melting that in other parts of the country Glaciers are actually Growing. They forget to mention that piece of the pie.

Go see a few growing glaciers http://www.iceagenow.com/List_of_Expanding_Glaciers.htm

Liberals and special interest groups need fear to get money so the more they can scare us and say the sky is falling the more money we will spend. Politicians like it because more money for them, means more money in contributions. And Politicians like it when the sky is falling then they can justify a bigger government to fix it and put all the pieces of the sky back together.

Crap now they say Cow crap might be as bad as car gas, I have a hard time believe God made such a fragile Eco system that cow crap can be causing Global Warming.

Climate changes have gone on for thousands of years and the earth
has adapted.

And Soapweed, I gotta hand it to you for mentioning this is a RANCHER'S WEBSITE. We do tolerate guests here, but it is getting harder and harder
to overlook some of the ones that definitely look down their nose at
us. Why do they bother to keep on bothering us?

Had a prof at Bozeman in the biology department.. Eversman, or soemthing like that who taught Alpine ecology and Bio 101 or whatever it was called as well as some other classes that I never took. Interesting woman... Anyways, during Alpine ecology she talked about glaciers and global warning and said a less publisized theory that had some folks believing saying that what we are living in is just a transiotionary period between iceages and as these glaciers melt for now that soon enough, maybe 100 years, maybe 10,000 years the process will just simply reverse itself. Now, I don't take it as gospel (Nor did she) what she said but at least a professor was willing to present other theories on what is going on. That is my biggest problem with the global warming theory it is always tought as 100% fact.. It might be the best guess as to what is going on now but we don't know for sure. Folks get so dead set on saying it is their way or no way when it comes to scientific theory that they become blind to the fact that they could be wrong. The earth is flat, Spontaneous creation of snakes via horsehair in barnes, littleman theory, the atom is the smalest particle, no the electron is... Wait, a quark.. Knowledge changes, different things are proven right and than later proven wrong...
