Global warming anyone? I am actually in favor of global warming but appears that all is lost at the moment.

Feeling chilly? Here's cold comfort: You could be in East Antarctica, which according to new data set a record for soul-crushing cold.

Try 135.8 degrees Fahrenheit below zero; that's 93.2 degrees below zero Celsius, which sounds only slightly toastier. Better yet, don't try it. That's so cold scientists say it hurts to breathe.

A new look at NASA satellite data revealed that Earth set a new record for coldest temperature recorded. It happened in August 2010 when it hit -135.8 degrees. Then on July 31 of this year, it came close again: -135.3 degrees.

Sitting at my Dad's house here in Red Oak, IA (about 45 minutes SW of Omaha) and the therometer on the car bottomed out at 14 below coming back from a friend's house earlier this evening  10pm news showed 18 below in Maryville, MO in the NW corner of Missouri.

Never should have checked the weather this morning.

Minus 38, with a minus 50 C. windchill. Better off not to know that. The poor old Deutz wouldn't even turn over. I think the oil turned into molasses. And the craziest thing is that by morning it will be minus 12.  With blowing snow of course, just to keep it interesting.

Only six months to go.............

The temperature here came up during the night. At dusk it was about 15 degrees, and now it is 33 degrees. There is a 40 percent chance of snow or sleet today.

Just a little below freezing this morning. At 10:10 am the sun is just about to peak over the horizon.
Yesterday was beautiful, sunny and about 2 degrees of frost, no wind. Made it nice to work in shirt sleeves :D

Yesterday morning it was 31 Below with a chill factor near 60 Below... Apparently had a power surge that burned out light bulb in pump house and flipped breaker on water tank heater and feed truck heater... Long morning of 4 letter words being emitted....

Then during afternoon warmed up to around 10 degrees and we got freezing rain/snain for several hours...
Today the wind finally went away- and the temp has slowly warmed to 31 Above at 4 PM today...
A 62 degree change in temperature which has sure brightened the Christmas attitudes....
