EPA Honors Fake Employee
Just when you thought the federal government couldn’t get more ridiculous

By Eliana Johnson

Richard Windsor may be the most famous Environmental Protection Agency employee. Oddly, he does not exist. “Windsor” is the e-mail alias that Lisa Jackson, former head of the EPA and now an environmental adviser to Apple, used to correspond with environmental activists and senior Obama-administration officials, among others.

Windsor, we have learned, was also an employee of significant achievement. Documents released by the agency in response to a Freedom of Information Act request reveal that, for three years, the EPA certified Windsor as a “scholar of ethical behavior.”

The agency also documented the nonexistent Windsor’s completion of training courses in the management of e-mail records, cyber-security awareness, and what appears to be a counter-terror initiative that urges federal employees to report suspicious activity.

The EPA made the certifications public in response to a FOIA request from Chris Horner, a senior fellow at the Competitive Enterprise Institute who was tipped off to Jackson’s use of the Windsor account by agency employees while he was researching his 2012 book, The Liberal War on Transparency. Horner says that the EPA probably issued agency-wide training requirements for anybody who wished to maintain an active e-mail address, “never contemplating a false identity or fake employee would be created.” What appears to have happened, then, is that Jackson signed in, using her alias e-mail, to take the online courses for which the certifications were issued. “I’m unclear how grown men and women could think that it’s acceptable to have a nonexistent employee sign in as the test-taker [or to have an] administrator take required certification training in the name of a false identity,” Horner says.

How about this for "Transparency"?

The Associated Press asked for all email addresses from the Labor Dept. under FOIA. The Labor Dept agreed to furnish them for $1 MILLION!!!

Top Obama appointees using secret email accounts
AP via Fox ^ | June 4, 2013

Some of President Obama's political appointees, including the Cabinet secretary for the Health and Human Services Department, are using secret government email accounts they say are necessary to prevent their inboxes from being overwhelmed with unwanted messages, according to a review by The Associated Press.

The scope of using the secret accounts across government remains a mystery: Most U.S. agencies have failed to turn over lists of political appointees' email addresses, which the AP sought under the Freedom of Information Act more than three months ago. The Labor Department initially asked the AP to pay more than $1 million for its email addresses.

A secret email identity would explain the large gap in the emails the Obama Department of State and White House released in the Benghazi talking point editing issue too.

If the Congress didn't know about "SECRET" Identities then they would not know who's emails to ask for. If they exist there is a good chance they are the ones that were being used to carry out the serious editing of the talking points that changed a KNOWN Terrorist Attack into the Reaction to a little watched Video LIE.

If this is the MOST TRANSPARENT ADMINISTRATION in History I would love to know who the Libs would rate the MOST SECRETIVE.

No Wait I already know that answer, BUSH Because he lied about WMD  Which by chance was an issue that was pushed hard by a long list of Dems. They claimed Sadam had them and was going to use them on US soldiers if something wasn't done to stop him. So when Bush went looking for them and didn't find them the Dems jumped the WMD ship and claimed BUSH LIED. This is a Great example of why you can not truth a Democrat to back what they say when the truth finally comes out. It is all about the OTHER GUY WAS WRONG.

uh oh.. . looks like there are more "secret" e-mail accounts.. and everyone is doing it.. so it is no big deal....

A White House spokesman said Tuesday there’s nothing secret about the secret email accounts held by administration officials, and defended the practice as sensible time management.

“There’s nothing secret,” Mr. Carney said. “It’s about having a public email address as well as … one for internal, you know, workings.”

The Associated Press reported Tuesday that other administration officials, including Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, also use secret email accounts. The news service said the scope of the practice remains a mystery because Cabinet agencies have failed for three months to respond to requests under the Freedom of Information Act for lists of political appointees’ email addresses.

Mr. Carney wouldn’t say whether White House officials hold secret email accounts, although he himself uses an email address that isn’t in the traditional format employed at the White House.

yep it's so common even Carney has a secret e-mail account...
