EPA leaked confidential information on farmers and ranchers

"data", being some 1s and 0s, no doubt...

According to a letter from a group of Senators to Acting EPA Administrator Bob Perciasepe, the EPA “released farm information for 80,000 livestock facilities in 30 states as the result of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request from national environmental organizations. It is our understanding that the initial release of data contained personal information that was not required by the FOIA request for ten states including Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio and Utah. This release included names and personal addresses.”

The Senators sent the letter Friday to express concern over the sensitivity of the data that was released to groups like Earth Justice, Pew Charitable Trust and Natural Resources Defense Council and to ask how the EPA plans to protect the data of farms and ranches that are also homes to families.

You gave them the info..keep filling out those AG dept forms every year!!! :)

if you look at almost any federal form it is a bit long.. first they give you the directions most 5th graders could figure out,.. then they either give you the code or federal law that gives them the authority to ask for the information and somewhere in the tiny print they give you a privacy statement...

it usually tells you that the information is protected.. and how it can be used..

so in reality by handing out the "data" or info... they are violating laws..

they add these laws because Constitutionally your "privacy" is protected... sure the actual case law is a bit flimsy... and could fall apart.. but then a host of other "freedoms" would fall with it..

when you lose the "expectation of privacy" and the goverment trumps on that privacy... unreasonable searches all of a sudden become reasonable.. and nothing is considered off limits...

Just giving out your 1s and 0s, so the enviro whackos can come knocking on your door, to intimidate you into believing as they do.

What's next...marking all the Jewish houses with the star of David, so the Muslims can come knocking?

What you didn't mention Steve that is way important, is the penalty you will receive for not providing the information.

So what Kola is saying, is just because you were coerced into providing the private information, you are an idiot for providing the private information because you should expect the government to use it against you if you don't do what they say, when they say, or speak out against them.

True progressive ideology.

I imagine she also supports agenda 21 as well, which this info will come in handy when they start implementing that fiasco.

People should be starving in no time, you know, because they are trying to prevent people from starving in the future. See how that makes sense.
