EPA wants you to pay more for your electricity. Here is how you can help us stop itl
"The EPA has proposed new climate regulations that sets strict limits on the carbon dioxide emissions for future coal or natural gas power plants. In a 2012 Congressional Budget Office Report, engineers estimate that these regulations would increase the cost of producing electricity from coal based plants by 75%. A large portion of the electricity that your electric cooperative delivers to you is derived from coal-based generation. The additional cost to the power plants (which you own) to meet these requirements will have an unpleasant effect on your monthly bill.
You electric cooperative needs your help! Stand with electric cooperative members nationwide as we fight to keep electric bills affordable. Raise your voice by sending a message to the EPA through the Cooperative Action Network at www.action.coop.
We need everyone's help. Forward this to your friends, neighbors and family members and ask them to sign up. At www.action.coop they can learn more about EPA's high priced plans and tell the EPA we can't afford higher electric bills."
note(--there are post cards attached in order for those who do not have a computer and would like your electric cooperative to communicate to the EPA on your behalf, please fill out the information on the attached card and return it to your electric cooperative.)
Thank you.
