Yes, I've noticed. Kinda hard not to.
This election is going to be decided by the people who are just now starting to pay attention, not by political junkies (like me) that post on forums like this one. Those people have heard enough of the ridiculous, baiting questions designed to trip up a candidate like we've seen the past couple of days to not be particularly impressed by them, IMO. Most of them couldn't care less whether McCain knows how many houses he owns or what kind of car he drives. They want to know about the candidates, their positions, and whether they're likable and trustworthy. They already know McCain, who's been around for years, so this election is going to be a referendum on Obama, not McCain, and certainly not President Bush as some would have us believe. The Obama campaign and most of the media will try to hide his extremism, but at least some of it will come out. As they say "if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck......."
Heck, I saw the other day where 20% of Clinton voters say they're going to vote for McCain, and that doesn't include the undecided ones who MIGHT vote for McCain or just stay home. And it's not like Clinton only got a few votes. The popular vote in the Democratic primary was pretty much dead even. That's a lot of votes, folks, and that's not a good sign for "The Annointed One". Remember how Clinton came on so strong in the later primaries? The reason wasn't so much Clinton, IMO, but the fact that the more people found out about Obama, the more they didn't like what they saw. And these people were Democrats. I believe the same will hold true in the general election. The middle of the road voters, who will decide this election, will be watching Obama, not McCain. Will they like what they see? In my opinion, no.
