Excited!

Well, I've been doing some shopping around and I think I've found the purchases for the year :p. I needed a truck, and I found a 1993 Chevy 6.2L Crew Cab long box for 3k. 40, 000km on the new motor.

But the one I;m most excited about is the sled. I found two that I'd like. One is a 2002 Polaris Edge X 600. The other is a 2003 Polaris Pro X 600. I;m going to lighten them up and put reeds in, pipe it, and put a studded track on it. Both I can get for $3500. I'm doing snowcross next winter. You only live once, do it right. :D. I have all the equipment now, and I think it would be a good way to stay out of trouble.

Now the real question, the Pro X or the edge X?

Both. If one is broke then you can use the other. FH might be talking about another kind of broke. Which you will be if you buy both. Avoid broke, or go for broke?

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but the price gas is now, and going to get even worse, they say, I'd be seriously considering what FH said.......The lady's got a good head on her shoulders, I'll tell ya that much.

Pickup sounds nice, though.........

Oh, the truck is gorgeous... A dark blue with 31 Inch Mud Terrains :p lol.

And I can't afford both sleds... just one. I have a buddy that is going to do the same thing, I'm going to be his partner in crime and He's gonna be my mechanic.

ACS....

I think I'd heed Faster Horses' advice. No one ever went broke making $$$ and one of the fastest way to make $$$ is to save $$$.

I am pretty sure you didn't want to hear that, but it's just my thoughts.

Hope you have a great Easter.

Cheers---

TTB

two things that will suck your money faster than a speeding bullet...women, and anything with a motor.

my advice, walk everywhere, and avoid females

Lol, I appreciate the advice but I am going to get one of the sleds, I've wanted to for a long time and I have been working and saving the $ for it. If I want at the end of next year and I don't like it but have not blown the motor on it, he will buy it back for the same price.

Besides, I need a truck for the sled, a sled for the woman and a woman for me :p

I'm not going to try and discourage you from buying a sled. I fully understand the need you have for one. When you live in a area that receives a lot of snow it can seem like a must. I will discourage you from doing to much modifying to the engine. The more power you try to get out of one the more cantankerous and unreliable they become. And they will bleed your pocket book of all your money. The closer to stock you keep it the better off you'll be. Just my two cents.

Ned, I thought about it for a while and I have came to a different conclusion, Instead of the reeds which will give it a little more go but tend to cause problems, I could just bore out the pistons and have relitively the same effect. Also I can put a can on, and if I heard right It could help a wee bit. The pipes are a must though.

And it is a "necessity" here, we use it everyday to go check the cattle instead of starting the truck, it is also economical, as long as you only do that, haha. And Dad is selling his because we're in a tight financial position and he won't let me help, so I am going to do this and he seems to think its a good idea.

Many are saying that motors will suck your money. How true that is. Now I read that Dad is in a tight financial position.....just go for the basic needs and forget all the bells and whistles. Take a listen to the wise sages on here and you won't be sorry. Are all those "upgrades" really necessary to do the work or are you just trying to impress the women. You don't want a woman that is impressed by those items.....shallow!

I personally have a old Polaris TX440,nothing fancy but fun as all get out! When you can't get around on anything else you can check and feed the stock with it,little snowmobile trailers are handy to.Whatever you do have fun,and stay within your financial means,my two cents.

Oh oh, Dad is in financial stress. I take back what I said earlier. I just didn't want common sense to get in the way of substantial fun. But not affording it is a bigger worry now. The need for speed can't take precedence over the need to succeed. Consider this carefully.

Neither one. :p

All those 'engines' are going to keep you broke, young man.

Remember, you need to own them, you don't want them to own you.

This is a situation where we ought not confuse the young feller with the facts. His mind is made up!

I have the money, and will not be doing all the upgrades at once, Over the course of the summer probably. And I already have a woman, no need to impress her, she likes me for me, not for what I own or what I ride.
