We know Fast & Furious doesn't hold up to a national security issue.

Holder claims/claimed he knew nothing about F&F and neither did Buckwheat.

So................................if neither knew about it how can Buckwheat claim executive privilege?? Why would there be documents about a subject that they knew nothing about?

Or as they claim now, there are no more documents..............

how can they be so blind and stupid to connect two separate operations..

Another, smaller probe occurred in 2007 under the same ATF Phoenix field division. It began when the ATF identified Mexican suspects who bought weapons from a Phoenix gun shop over a span of several months. The probe ultimately involved over 200 guns, a dozen of which were lost in Mexico. On September 27, 2007, ATF agents saw the original suspects buying weapons at the same store and followed them toward the Mexican border. The ATF informed the Mexican government when the suspects successfully crossed the border, but Mexican law enforcement were unable to track them.[4][10]

Less than two weeks later, on October 6, William Newell, then ATF's special agent in charge of the Phoenix field division, shut down the operation at the behest of William Hoover, ATF's assistant director for the office of field operations

as soon as it was discovered to be a failure.. it was shut down,... way back in 2007

yet now liberals want to blame Bush.. because Obama restarted a failed program..

do they really think Americans are that stupid?

An August 2006 briefing memo on Wide Receiver, which was conducted from 2006 to 2007, shows that


"there is currently sufficient documentation to conclude"

a criminal case from the investigation.

In addition,


the memo suggests that it was

"highly unlikely,"

due to the limited recovery of firearms, that weapons had not already entered gun trafficking conduits to Mexico.

Regardless, ATF decided to forge ahead with the investigation.

Additional documents indicate that they did so in an attempt to infiltrate deeper into criminal gun trafficking organizations operating along the U.S.-Mexico border.

By the end of 2006, the targets of the investigation had purchased 181 firearms. Hundreds of firearms were sold to the targets of the investigation before it ended in 2007.

No charges were filed against the targets of the investigation until 2009, during the Obama administration. Six individuals have since been convicted of offenses related to the Wide Receiver operation.
