We got 'er done. Beautiful weather, sunny and mid 70's. The calves didn't look so big until we wrestled them  8)

Hey Hanta Yo, Sure didn't take long for that snow to melt and things turn dusty again!
Thanks for the pic's!

Yup, the snow was gone in 2 days. The earth just slurped it up, and we've had some days of high winds. :( Would like for it to rain, looks like there are chances of it for the rest of the week. How are things your way?

The calves look good and soggy.Your wrestler's look like those around here a bit older as all the kids won't do it they want to rope.

Nice bunch of photos Hanta, calves look like growthy rascals.
Didn't anyone tell the flankers that ya shouldn't squat with yer spurs on? :D

Thanks for the photo story................looks like good stock & a good crew......that looks like a dandy young roper on a equally good pony :)

if they're like me, it helps 'em get "up" quicker

Hi HY, enjoyed the pics. Seems strange to have brandins in the fall. No one in our branding curcuit is fall branding.....yet.

Re. comment on kids roping and 'older' guys wrestling: they trade off around here to give anyone a chance to rope. Also, quite a few use the Nordfork to hold the calfs' head so it doesn't take many wrestlers.

Maybe by spring I'll learn how to load and send photo's.....it's a slow process for me to get lessons on the wonders of the computer.....hard to catch a 'tutor' with time on their hands!!!! Maybe when the grandgirls are here for Christmas.

Great pictures, looks like a nice fall day, its been snowing and blowing here all day, electricity has been out for 8 hours. Looks like you are in pine tree country, have any trouble with pine neddle abortions?

Thanks everyone for your kind words! We did use Soap's thingamabobby too, but no pics were taken using it. It works really well, as some of the older guys were making sure it was working

Brushpopper, we mainly have pine needle abortions during spring calving, since we sometimes have a spring snowstorm that will "encourage" some cows to eat pine needles, even though we feed them hay and put out straw. We do some spring calving. Since they abort during the last trimester, our fall calving cows are in grass up to their bellies during that time of their gestation. Of course, I've seen some of them eat them just because... :?

Everyone got a chance to rope, at least those who wanted to. Even MCG brought in a few :)
