FARMALL M/ Super M Restoration

These high school boys worked on this restoration project even on their Spring break. Tommy Respess is a senior and is already in the US Army, went to basic last summer and I think he's already been to his AIT for Tracked Vehicle Mechanic, I don't know what the MOS is for that is. Tommy and Travis Shaw are pictured, Josh Asmore, not pictured was one of their co-horts. They go to Charleston High School in Charleston, MS. The school has all but completely cut off funding for the mechanic shop class so they pretty much do everything on their own nickel The owner of the tractor funded the project and fed the help, even me, the visitor who pitched in a little. My wife's nephew helped 'em out and did the paint job.
Nobody got mashed or wrapped up in a wire wheel.

Pretty dang cool! I love old iron. :D Your story of the funding reminds me of my very short college experience. SUU in southern Utah had a welding/fab/machinist program that graduated 38 kids the year I was there. They also had a drama program that had graduated 4 seniors. Guess which program they cut? :???: :x But there is a huge demand for mimes and the pay is off the charts!

i like the old iron also, but was a farmal that my dad lost his arm in with a old mounted picker.the only thing that saved his life was the Kill Switch that was down far enough he was able to hit it with his foot and shut the machine off.

later, a neighbor was pinned under one and was killed in the accident.

seems alot of accidents happened on that old iron,,the youth must be cautious

good luck guys and congrations on your project!

Better be careful, with statements like that you may be stalked by a mime.

But you might not know it.
