You know I got thinking-it's in no way ethical for a certified veterinarian to be discussing unproven genetic anomalies on the internet. I don't know what the standards are in Aus but I know in Canada they'd be hauled up in front of the professional conduct board. There's difference between covering things up and idly speculating about bloodlines etc that people make their livelihood from. I'm sure there is a channel available for vets to disseminate information other than internet chat sites!!!
I think everything the Vets are discussing/bringing up is info thats been published- either by the investigating scientists/Vets or the Angus Associations of their respective countries...
I'd much rather gather info from what they are seeing and finding-and the info they are gathering- rather then from the rampant speculation and rumor that is running in the industry today...
The years of the SSS theory of our US Association and some Big Bull Pimps- until the defects were no longer hideable- is what brought about this rampant speculating- and now its going to take some openness, transparency, and allowing the light of day to shine on the issue to clear it up....
Brian runs a pretty tight ship on Advantagecattle- and doesn't allow just random naming of names...You have to be able to put something behind it- and your name behind it (as all on that site have to register)....
