Bigshot FDA Commissioner lies on forms and committs open fraud and gets a suspended sentence from the Bush Administration--but if your a Border Patrolman that shoots an illegal immigrant Drug smuggler in the butt in a split second decision after he attacks you when you catch him smuggling 748 lbs of marijuana-- the administration makes up a case and covers for the illegal smuggler to prosecute the BP Agents while letting the druggy walk- and gives them 12 years in prison.......

We now have the best government Big Bucks (Corporate or Drug Cartel) can buy...

Former FDA Chief Crawford Fined Almost $90,000

Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Lester Crawford on Tuesday was fined $89,377 in conjunction with charges related to his ownership of stock in companies regulated by FDA.

A federal judge also sentenced Crawford to three years probation and ordered him to perform 50 hours of community service.

Crawford, who resigned from FDA in 2005, admitted to making false statements on financial disclosure forms and violating conflict-of-interest laws. The stock holdings at issue included Sysco Corp., PepsiCo Inc. and Kimberly-Clark Corp.

"I accept full responsibility for what I have done to have brought about these charges," Crawford said during sentencing. "I am deeply regretful for what happened."

Last thing I want the President doing is policing every decision passed down from every court in the land! He has more important things to do than this! We have a appeals court system to take care of this, cases like the one you mention above should not even show up on his radar, he has more important things to be worry about!

You guys are crazy that think Bush is to blame for everything that happens on his watch! The Buck stops here when it comes to National issues and security. Not rather some person gets probation or 3 months in jail for stealing a candy bar at local convenient store.

You need to get some balance in your line of thinking!

GW's actions and appointments (US Attorney General) set the policy of the land-- that means it is his ultimate responsibility....

If you are going to lead then lead and take responsibility for the directions you head-- if not, get the hell out of the way and let someone lead that will.............Don't try to cover this neocon Corporate sellout and Border issue sellout with smokescreens and "ain't my job man" excuses.....

I blame people for what things they are to blame for, you never would have heard me blaming Clinton because some person got probation for crime. I might blame the Prosecutor or the Judge but not the president.

You confuse your facts, just because Clinton was to blame for not doing his part to stop Bin Laden, does not mean we believe he was to blame for every shoplifter that got off with his hands slapped.

You use generalization catch phrase to prove a point that you have no intellect on!

You have lost touch with reality! As much as you hate Bush and want to blame him for everything, we have a Courts system in place. Do I hope that Bush does something about the Border Patrol officers, yes I do!

But I also would understand if he allows the appeals court system to do its part. Was that not the way our founding fathers set it up?

You guys want Bush to have less power, but then you blame him when he does not over step his intended power to do things that you want him to do.

The plain facts are that the President is a busy man and should not be sticking his nose into the millions of court cases that go on daily in the U.S.

As citizens we have an obligation if we see Justice not being served such as that in the Border Patrol Officers to speak out and try to do something and many people on here have did but writing our Congressman.

But a reasonable person can not post a individual case such as you did and say Bush is to blame. That is seriously one of the stupidest ideals I have ever heard. Who knows, maybe the punishment fit the crime. Maybe a fine and probation was good enough for a white collar crime like this, I was not on the Jury so I can not tell you maybe it was just maybe not. But what I do know is that it is not the President of the United States fault that a Judge give probation on an individual case.

You know I never cared much for Clinton, but I was not a Clinton Hater. You guys are so ate up with hate you are becoming ignorant in your views.

Who is a "you guys" :???: Is that a new neocon label for someone you don't agree with? Or anyone that doesn't agree with your annointed God for the day?

I respect the office of the President of the United States- but that does not mean I have to always agree with the person that sits in that office- or what he does.....Remember we got rid of Saddam for that reason....

I am not a Bush hater-- in fact I voted for him twice...And I know that many of these situations were inherited from Bill Clinton...But I am losing a lot of faith and respect I had in the man with his failure to change some of these policies like the US public is asking...The man and his appointees are not getting the job done that was expected of and is being asked of him/them....

His historical apparent lack of concern involving bureaucrats/politicians and their ties to corporate fraud/corruption, and the illegal immigrant issue are only 2 of many issues I and many other conservatives and liberals alike in this nation disagree with....An overall apathy at enforcing many laws he is sworn to enforce...

Remember---- both of these were big issues on Nov 7, 2006........My biggest fear is that GW's lack of leadership and arrogant, "you guys" it us against them A-holes like you , will have us again talking about President Clinton--Hillary......

You have valid points in Bush's lack of doing something about Illegal Immigration even though it has been a snow ball of a problem way before him.

But that still does not make you correct on the fact that the President of the U.S. should be monitoring the courts and looking to over turn decisions passed down in the Courts before they have ever gone through the complete Judicial system.

You are also off base on the fact that it is his fault that a Judge that was appointed 13 years before he ever became President decided that a fine and probation was a just punishment.

A smart person might pick a battle but he makes sure he uses the correct example to prove his point, you did not do that from what I can see.

The President can not be held to blame for a Judicial system that has been set up for over 200 years, nor the individual Judges that he had nothing to do with appointing.

There is plenty of things to blame Bush for not doing, but you are grasping on this one.

Ps. Calling me an AssHole was pretty typical for someone that does not want to be classified as one of the "You guys" And for someone that does not want to be labeled you sure throw the Neocon label around pretty freely. Kind of like Liberals accusing Fox of being slanted media but other networks are not.

Lots of Judges, many different presidents that appointed them. We are talking about a specific case here, stay on point! George W Bush did not appoint the Federal Judge that gave this person probation!

Once again you try to use some generalization that does not apply to this specific topic at hand! I must say you are the queen of quotes and remarks that do not retain to the topics expressed.

When I think of it, I can not remember one post of yours where you just share some info or take a side and show an intellectual argument to support your side. Surely you are smart enough to give some meaningful debate to the things you believe, instead of just constantly throwing out anti Bush one liners as the basis for your beliefs?

Quit being an apologist, aplus. Bush was governor of Texas before he was president. He knows the issues and only reacts when the public makes him. He is not doing the job---maybe it is the attention he has to give to some mess in a small country way, way far away.

The federal attorney generals all answer to Bush. He even got rid of the ones that were doing their job---you know---the one who was indicting Republican Congressmen from California.

Last person I would apologize for is George Bush! I personally can not wait till the day he is replaced (as long as that day does put Hillary in office). I am just not a Bush Hater as many are, and I support his efforts on Terrorism. But many other things the man has did tickle my fancy!

But to blame a President for everything that happens is ludicrous. As powerful as the man is, he has not got half the Power that some make him out to have. Nor should he use his power in as many areas as some think he should.

As for him getting rid of someone for indicting a Republican Congressman, I know nothing of this. I would be interested in hearing more.
