how's everyone's winter been so far??....our's has been great compared to last year's,..two extended chinook/warm spell's that got rid of all the snow that fell in between, although the weather guy say's that January was the snowiest in the last eighteen years'

It has been a crazy winter. snow came early and stayed untill after christmas then we warmed up. That was followed by an extended cold spell. Last wednesday we had a blizzard that dumped 28 inches of snow and on friday we go another 8 inches and more strong winds. The weather liars are forecasting another 8 to 12 inches for tomorrow with strong gusty winds. The ground hog will freeze to death tomorrow if he comes out looking for his shadow in the storm with temps in the single digits or below zero before wind chill. I am so ready for spring. :D

Here in Ontario, a cold, snowy November made us remember last year's endless winter and say "oh no, not again". But then in December we lost all our snow and had bare ground.

January started out rough but then turned nice halfway through and we've had a shallow snow cover but temps almost 10 degrees below normal.

So it's been pretty good overall and there's lots of feed left.

We started with a cold windy miserable November, December was pretty nice for December but ended cold and running into the first of January. We then warmed up and had a great last half of the month. February started cold with one tractor not wanting to start and one hopper bin of corn running out. Guess it's time to move the auger for the second half of the winter. :D

Yeah he had a post on here for sure, along with one in "swath grazing" there are a few more there that are gone as well

18 inches of snow fell in 2 days on Nov. 24 and 25. Started feeding 3 weeks early. Glad we had bought some feed early to make up for what we thought we were short. Have found reasonable freight on screenings pellets out of Vancouver. Hay is very hard to find here and very expensive.

First snow settled to about 6 inches and in early Jan. we got another 22 inches of snow followed by 6 hours of hard rain. 3/8 inch rind of ice on top then.

Have had a lot of warm days, more rain and the crust is now twice as thick. Not good for moose and cariboo. The wolves can run right on top.

Spring can't come to soon.
