Stranded at the bridge. We forgot to sand the cement, so the suspicious minds of the young cows wouldn't allow them to cross.
The Kosmo Kid loped back a mile and brought the feed pickup. An ounce of pull is worth a pound of shove.

Man Soap, that bare ground is a sight for sore eyes! I know you've had a few unexpected early arrivals, but when does the real calving season kick in for you guys?

Did you rustle that#14 cow from the JF ranch?

Are those things on the side just handles?

She is one of my sister's cows. We were putting in some new tags and branding some of her new young cows today.

Yes, those things on the side are just handles. It was originally made as a do-it-yourself back scratcher, but it sure works amazingly well on cows. This forty dollar investment will save me thousands of dollars that will not be needed to update our manual chutes to hydraulic. :)

Cows look nice; new horses look nice and I think that Hook Doctor would
be the real deal. I always like to mouth the older cows, but I run into
some resistance...since I'm not the one who has to open the cows
mouth...now we sold the cows, I don't need one...

Oh, and Soap, that BARE GROUND looks really nice.
Haven't seen that her for awhile and probably won't for awhile.

I knew I should have taken a better look at the HookDoctor when we were at the stock show. Tried to cruise through everything in a couple of hours and still get home in time to feed the cows.
Nice pictures.

Never ceases to amaze me how your country can change from white to brown in a matter of days......several times in a winter.

At first glance I would say Peach drew the pick of the pen today. Am I close?

Thanks Again Soapweed.

Yup.

The gray isn't very big, but he rides like a big horse. Should we ever get any grandkids, this little guy will be just the ticket.

The way them young folks in your outfit are dragging their feet you may have to send that grey up here for a year or two first. :p

Any day now....... :D

That just means it's
Soap's

Bronc

Yep-- when I saw shortgrasses post I had to go back and look-- expecting some of the old bronc brands-- Flying U (Rosser) Walking 5 (Bloxham) or the one that always stuck out - the Swastika (JJ Smith)...

This one defintitely designates "sweet little bay"- compared to the others....
