Acowcapturedtohaulhome.jpg

A cow captured to haul home. When we trailed 211 head home from where they wintered, this one wouldn't cross
the Bear Creek bridge. It is too icy and slippery to get rope-happy. She won the battle, but we won the war.

Oh man...I got the shivvers just looking at you all out horseback
in that wind and weather. There just isn't anywhere colder than
the back of a horse.

I bet you are glad that job is over with for awhile.
Next time, pick a better day!

Thanks for the pictures!

Thanks for sharing those awesome photos. Dont know exactly where you are but everything about your photos reminds me of our place. We are located south of Hay Springs just south of the Niobrara. Just a thought, you should look into switching to Guardian instead of Scour Gard. We made the move 2 years ago and really like it.

I see your calving party is about to begin as well :D . Don't feel badly on your choice of working weather... I sorted yesterday in the same conditions . Luckily it was just me and the girl dogs, and they were appropriately dressed, and never complained one word :D .

Good luck calving, it will be fun to see how your composite bulls work out :D .

Hey Leanin' H is now the time when we start the calving season debate?

You had better hope we turn out bulls at the same dumb time next year, or how else is our shared "heifer bull" situation going to work? :)

I've been thinking about that Soap, the way the cattle market is moving you might have to pay me to use them.

Your cat would go nuts with the number of jackrabbits that have moved into the yard/haystacks looking for food- and trying to get away from the eagles... My dogs don't even bother chasing them anymore!!
