Hey, did you get any rain?

I am hoping and praying the moisture I saw on the radar in NW Iowa, was right over your place!

It is FOGGY here this morning...visability between 0 and .3 miles!

Cheers---

TTB

Foggy here, too, TTB. It's so thick, I think I could cut it with a knife. I went out my driveway this morning to walk next door to the in-laws, and I couldn't even see their driveway! And it's only maybe 500 feet or so from ours! Humidity's 100%, so no baling for the guys for awhile today. But the sun is supposed to shine later this morning, and it's gonna get real muggy, and I'm gonna hate every moment of it.

It was foggy here too this morning, and it cooled off so nicely last night that you needed a blanket, which was wonderful. Today however won't be too nice with the humidity. We need rain or they will have to be putting fire bans on soon. The smoke from the BC/States fires was thick yesterday, and I'm not looking forward to another summer of it.

Must have been a big fog as it was foggy here as well. It burnt off about 10 and did it ever get hot. Might be an idea not to knock any hay down and see whhat kind of storm brews up.

We got an inch here today and I was further south early this morning and it was like a monsoon down there.. I think they had to get more, it was hard to drive and I had to change clothes after being outside for 2 minutes, soaked to the bone.... But you want to know something? Nothing reall feels better than those heavy downpours on a mid July morning when you know at this time of year, every drop you get is a blessing.

No rain here, not a drop!!! It rains a little 20 miles north and 30 miles south but none for me!!! We had a local farmer ask the insurance agency if he could cut one field for silage, but no was the word. They tested the corn stalk and it only had 46% moisture, Mr. Feeder said for ideal silage 65% moisture for the stalks is good so I don't know what the insurance guy is thinking. Crops aren't totally gone but we need rain fast. We have powder down a foot or more in the soil. We did get rain at our Toronto,SD ground. We heard some fields are either flat or hailed out. Mr. Feeder will go there this week and check if we got lucky or not and just got rain. Glad you got rain Il Rancher, hope your crops do well. TTB, thanks for asking about the rain.

We got another half inch over night and are scheduale for rain all day today and tomorrow. Whole area is in a flash flood watch.. Extended forcast after this rain looks dry or seasonal (Which means dry, lol) so we are hoping to get as much out of it as possible to get us through till September rains.. With the right amount of rain we should be real good for 6+ weeks even if we don't get another drop.. The swamp ground we have was grazed right before the rains came and it will hold the excess water for a good long time and the cows love that swamp grass come August, even if they won't touch it in June, lol.

Sorry to hear it Feeder. I was down in southwest Iowa on Thursday and they looked a bit dry out there too and they had a lot of rain earlier in the spring.. Beans and corn looked further behind than here but we are way ahead of scheduale here.. I will never understand those insurance guys when it comes to condemening those fields, they aren't going to produce crap, at least let the folks get some value out of it.

Mr. Feeder checked the SD ground. Corn is leaning good but not flat and the beans are OK. So we are glad for that. No rain again last night for us. OT, I hope you got your pit spray. If the NW winds start to blow I want them to bring a refreshing scent!!!
