Feeding Cows

Does anyone have an opinion on the deweze super slicer? If they work well or not. It sounds like a good concept to me. But would like some rancher opinion before I buy one. I want to feed in a bunk to reduce waste from walking on the feed. But don't want the leaf loss and quality of hay loss from a bale processor. Bale feeders are suposed to keep hay loss down but how do all the cows get their share without overfeeding them. Any thoughts would be greatly appretiated.

Had one and really like it, the only thing it didnt slice really good on hard bales like some alfala. I switched to a hay buster processor and really like it. Like the processor that I have if you feed some hay that has some dust in it most of it will be blown away when you lay that windrow out. I also like to mix my hay so I can lay some grass hay/millet hay down then come back over with some alfalfa down on top and it mixes really good.

did you feed in a bunk with the deweze or only on the ground? could a person lay out some wheat straw for bedding with one or do you get one narrow strip. thanks for the info

put a bale every 10' feet along the fence and let the calves eat to the center , you might have to push up once or twice , once they have eaten to the center just push it out , it will lay in a big flake , then all you have to do is fork between the bales .

I never did feed in a bunk but it might be kind of hard to lay it down in the bunk. That is one bad thing if your laying straw down it will just lay it in a strip.
