We moved cows this weekend on a windy but relatively warm day.
The Pied Piper Method worked with the bale deck and a wheel of DDGS.

But I was not brave enough to drive across here (I know I can make it down...). Had to get my helper.

It was warm enough to take off my gloves and get a couple of videos.

We ditched a bunch of cows this fall (100+) and sold all the bigger steers because of our feed situation, but have had a very nice winter so far and it looks like we will finish with extra feed in storage. But it could have gone the other way... We fed wheat DDGS for the first time as a supplement and really like them. High protein, high energy and cooked so we did not have to worry about weeds on our pasture. Also has been a good way to ensure cows are getting mineral, even though free choice is still available. We have been feeding with a roller on the bale deck through our brush patches and will see what it does to those patches. Kept all the heifers so we will be back at it again this summer...
