This past weekend we hunted cows for a widow lady. She had been renting to a guy and he has moved out recently. We finally found a few cows of hers. A few calves from this year and found some slick 2 and 3 year olds. I guess these cows didnt have any last year :???: Rode alot of country to find very few. But its been raining and we are all smiling again.
Could this be BMR's or Haymaker's cow??

That looks like nice country to ride.
Here there are so many washouts it's not a lot of fun.

Thahks for the pictures. We've never been to NM,
but plan on going.

There are hardly any fawns this year, or last year either.
We saw 5 does and no fawns with them. Don't know if it is
from too many coyotes or just exactly what, but it's not good.

one of the reasons we were cleaning this place up was alot of these leftovers

Anyway it was a good day untill it got to be 102* in the late afternoon. But we were all shaded up by then.

If that cow doesn't have a brand she's mine.

Just mail the check. :D

Big country, looks to be greening up a bit. You could probably use a plane to spot cows. :)

That country is a lot greener than I expected it would be! Looks very nice and productive. Looks like a person could spend alot of time gathering critturs in country that size.
Why the rope at the chute?

I noticed the same on how green it looks there...a rare sight I'm sure...I can't imagine trying to find wild critters in terain like that...need a bloodhound to snoop them out..lol

That is a LOT greener than I pictured New Mexico at this time of year. Thanks for the photo trip.
Like Silver, I cut those big cattle from behind with someone you trust bending the tail over their back.

Since that cow is red and has wolf hookers she has to be mine.

we have been getting some decent and regular rain showers for the last 3 weeks. This is typically our rainy season. This country will make some good feed if it will rain.
I agree on cutting from the backside, but I dont fit well that far in that chute. So thats why the side action.
