Oh goodness no, Hay Maker, I did not think your advice to H was an insult. It was probably not bad advice at all.

It's just that you didn't follow your own advice because you grace these friendly halls yourself, as evidenced by your fairly active participation in this very thread!! :)

Or did *elmo* steal your password . . . . . . AGAIN? You better keep an eye on that sneaky lil rascal

elmo has his own password/computer now..........do you think gracing these friendly halls gives a man reason to be onery/mad at the world and make insults because someone dont agree................think about it boy, anyone can 2 peck insults with a keyboard.
while you are tryin to dig up some smut on me do a search on elmo too, surely the ole scalawag has insulted/cursed/and threatened someone.
good luck

PS>>> be kind while Im gone, promised the neighbor Lady I would charcoal a couple ribeyes.
Believe it or not there really was an elmo, but we wont have to worry about him gracing these halls again as you so gracefully put it.

Well you sure are lucky that *elmo* got his own stuff and place now cuz he usta kinda drag you into some awful tight spots at times!

And don't you worry about me diggin up smut on you cuz that's not my way. I kinda lazy myself and don't like diggin so I just go after the stuff that lies right on the surface.

Anyways I don't think it's an insult to lay that smut open so it can have a chance to be got rid of.

You do those ribeyes up right now and don't over cook'em or they'll get tough and you'll wear yourself out chawin' on 'em.

No i havent. Should I?

Yes, you should.

It is a real eye opener.

I agree- you have to learn the history of the Packer "mafia" to understand what they are doing- and where they are trying to go with it...

Ben asked me to pass my copy around when I was done reading it- and in all the passing nobody remembers who read it last... And I haven't talked to Ben in awhile to get his address again...
But maybe someone would repost the address where folks can get a copy....I know rkaiser has the address ( if we can drag him off stirring things against the packers on Agri-Ville  ) ....

I think this is the address:

Health Research Books
P.O. Box 850
Pomeroy, WA 99347

The book is entitled, Past Present And how we can survive for the Future in the beef cattle business

I'd recommend everybody in the cattle business read Ben's book. You don't have to be anti-packer, you don't have to be a U.S. citizen, you don't have to be an R-CALF member, an NCBA member, or fit any particular group to get something out of it. But if you're in the cattle business, you really need to read it.

It's got a lot of good history in it regarding the beef industry and packer collusion. It's a business that Ben knows well and he put a lot of his life into it - as well as a lot of work into this book.

Somebody here at Ranchers was good enough to send me a copy a few years ago. After reading it, I talked to Ben about it and he sent me a whole box of them. I've passed a lot of them around, but I think I still have a couple of them left somewhere.

If anybody is interested, I'll try to find them and get a copy to you. The person that sent me the first copy wouldn't take any money for the postage and I'll do it the same way - so it won't cost you a dime. The only requirement I have is that you pass it around when you're through with it. If you don't have anybody else that's interested, donate it to your local library. Getting more people to read it is what Ben would want.

I'll go ahead and put one of them to the side for you, OT - if you're interested. Anybody else that wants one, just PM me and I'll see how many I can come up with - I should have two or three still around here somewhere.

Thanks Texan- I sent you a PM-- and I agree 100%--everybody involved in the cattle business should read the book...There were a lot of eyeopening things for me- which made me curious- so I even double checked thru the provided sources-and it made me research more thru several livestock buyer acquaintances I have- and when I finished- convinced me that the John Gotti family was choirboys compared to the Packer Mafia...

I think old rkaiser was handing them out up in Canada too- so may still have some ...
