Finally Done...

We are finally done buying bulls. We wound up needing fewer than originally planned as the moisture situation has slowed our growth plans. The last one was an angus sire we bought yesterday at the Fertile Valley sale. A king out of a Bando x Bandolier cow. For those who care.

His actual performance was
B 63, W 744, Y 1270, S 37cm, REA 14.1, IMF 2.8, Fat 0.3, Yield 62.4
He has very good feet and legs, moderate frame and looks like a bull to my eye.
The people we bought the bull from had a rough week, as they had to cancel the Friday sale and reschedule for monday due to the storm (see Dylan's pics) and their mom passed on Saturday. I think the $3400 average was very nice for them. They live, eat and breathe commercial cattle.

I think end to end they have as good a set of Angus cows, and bulls as I have seen in Canada, anywhere.
I think this one has the potential to be even better than the one you looked at when you stopped in. Better feet and legs for one thing...

From the looks of his ultrasound they backed off the feed bucket a bit from how they used to feed. Dennis had a fatal addiction to barley a few years back.
