God doesn't seem to be smiling on the religious right these days. First the "anti-Christ", Muslim, alien from outer space, outspoken supporter of women's rights, is elected president and now this:

Because of a weak economy and cash-strapped donors, Focus on the Family said it is eliminating 202 jobs, the deepest cuts in the 32-year history of the Colorado Springs-based Christian nonprofit. The ministry laid off 149 workers, and cut another 53 vacant positions.

It's called going through a tough time, a dry spell, or whatever you want to call it. FYI, God has never and will never leave or forsake those who serve Him wholeheartedly. Just look at the Jews by way of reading your Bible. They had plenty of rough times, even their country was conquered and overrun by the gentiles. But God never left them. He simply taught them a lesson. I'm saddened to think that Christians have gotten too comfortable and that we need to be smacked in the face and toughened up by some rough times. But I will say, the day is easier to face when you know you've got the creator of the universe and mankind behind you. :D No matter what happens and no matter who is running your country. :D

And exactly where am I laughing about people losing their jobs? I'm reporting the news. Focus on the Family is only one of many religious right groups that have set themselves up as judges of public morality. In reality, they're like any other business: they lay off employees when times get tough.

Ah. So you're offended that they are supposedly judging you and trying to tell people what the right thing to do is, hmm?

You don't really know much about God nor how he works do you? God does not promise us jobs or prosperity he promises us if we follow him we will have sustenance and covering. Tell you what when you hear of a Christian starving to death then you can right your smug response.

In reality it is the Devil that causes hardships to test Christains!

So now we know that the Devil was behind all them Banking Changes Clinton made all them home loans he forced to unqualified owners. Maybe the Devil was behind Clinton merging them evil oil companies. Maybe the Devil was directing him not to get Osama so he could cause more harm.

I went back on my word just yesterday. Danged Obama factor. There were kids with nothing to eat and I couldn't help myself. Their pantry is now full. Their adults know where the food came from unfortuneately. The kids don't know tho.

Kids need to eat. Their parents probably voted for the socialist. I don't want to know to tell you the truth.

Bush invaded Afghanistan on Oct. 7, 2001. The Iraq deal didn't start until March 2003.

"Instead" he attacked Iraq?

And after Osama struck he didn't go after him he instead attacked Iraq!

What? Don't put yourself in the category with OT and start lying through your teeth.

The difference between Obama's name and Osama's name is a B and an S. Just more of the BS things I guess.

Let's put it this way then Mike, everyone knew that Bin laden was in Afghanistan (according to most reports still is today along the Pakistan border) Did we go after him with our entire military might, this, the man, who at least co-conspired the 911 attacks and laughed about it on National TV. Just where did the major portions of our military wind up going? :???: Today where has Al Qaeda gained its strenth back??

How do you figure Al Quada is getting their strength back?

SHusker the reports from our military leaders in Afghanistan/Pakistan say such, which is one of the reasons that Obama is promoting moving troops from Iraq to Afghanistan. At least that is what I have heard on the national news on basically all networks.

In Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere, al-Qaida and its affiliates remain “the greatest terrorist threat to the United States and its partners” despite ongoing efforts to combat followers of Osama bin Laden and his top deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, according to the report. It says Zawahiri has emerged as the group’s “strategic and operational planner.”

“It has reconstituted some of its pre-9/11 operational capabilities through the exploitation of Pakistan’s Federally Administered Tribal Areas, replacement of captured or killed operational lieutenants, and the restoration of some central control by its top leadership, in particular Ayman al-Zawahiri,” it says.

[State Department counter terrorism coordinator Dell] Dailey, however, stressed that al-Qaida is still weaker overall than it was before Sept. 11, 2001.

I can agree with your ststement but the question was how did I know Al Qaeda was getting its strenght back? It is stronger now than probably a year ago just listen to the military leaders on the ground in Afghanistan.

It is too bad those cowards wouldn't meet me in the street at high noon with a good ole OK Corral type gun battle. They'd never do that. They'd rather pick on defenseless whimps. They rather fly in to domestic targets of unknowing folks.

Those folks that took them out on that plane that crashed are my kind of people.

What were those words, "Let's roll?" I want in on some of that too!

How did you know?? Just as you said...the state department made the statement.....I'm sure there is constant recruiting efforts going on. It's probably pretty easy. Those guys seem eager to die sometimes regardless of age or anything else. Just like the KKK, skinheads and others, you'll never get rid of all of them. Just try and contain them to select areas.
